Sorry, but you're wrong, the battery life is a real issue for a majority after the 6.1.3 upgrade. I won't disagree that some apps might play a role in increased battery drain, but Apple's update definitely played a part.

I have no battery issues at all whatsoever. I would suspect that Apple's update changed a API or something internal that causes some 3rd party apps to behave differently.

Said as if the iphone isn't the most popular smart phone ever sold.

Said as if everywhere you look someone isn't pulling out an iPhone to play Angry Birds.

Said as if you are constantly bombarded with "tritone" ringtones for people getting messages.

I could go on, but you get the point. You statement is one of the dumbest so far on this site.

Dang, said as if you have no sense of humor, sarcasm, and a big grinch!

The loudspeaker just seems quieter to me, like they decreased the max volume and called it fixed. Does anyone else feel like this?

as has stated by others, but I can confirm this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the speaker volume/sound/output, it's an update for the bluetooth audio profiles.

Guess its time to sell my Bang & Olufsen setup as the speakerphone profile has changed my audio experience entirely!

Something doesn't quite add up here... All I can say is WTF?!?! Install requirement is a bit crazy.

Been out a while now :)

For the above, not so much the update itself but why would a 11MB update require more than 500MB to install.

I can see some here don't look at the whole picture... ;)

Installed fine, I find no difference.

Hi all

Firstly, here in Australia this update was NOT OTA, it stated clearly the update can only be downloaded via Wi Fi, despite its 11.5MB size. I did notice the install did take quite a while for such a small updated which seemed on, almost as long as doing a software upgrade.
You do realize that Wi-Fi is OTA as well.

Because when you perform an update some system (and other) files are at least temporarily backed up, not to mention that the update itself is compressed and usually requires more space than what it takes up to just download it. Fairly standard and common, not even just for iOS.

having a long battery life is part of the user's experience.
I'd say having a decent/good battery life can be seen as being part of user experience. However, I don't think the iPhone was ever really marketed as some sort of a long battery life phone (like let's say the RAZR Maxx) for example, it's just that the phone has been designed to have fairly good battery life, at least in comparison to majority of other phones out there from the same time period.

Hmm..

For me, I just did a simple test with the same song with my updated iPhone 5 vs my partners non-updated iPhone 5.

Ive got a decent ear, had car audio and home audio over the years, so I get it to some point.

Basically, for me, the update definitely makes the speaker not as loud.

You can go on to say that it might remove some harshness that is inherent with it being louder. Maybe a touch richer, but less bright.

Keep in mind - its just a crappy little mono speaker :)

Hey guys, excuse my ignorance, but could someone explain to me what an audio profile is exactly?

Just a set of instructions which makes the speaker respond to inputs a certain way.

No more auto play!!!

Today I found out that when connecting to the car via Bluetooth the audio no longer auto plays. This is huge. I've been whining to the wife and looking for a solution for awhile now. I do not want to start auto playing music every time I get into the car or when some other audio feature finishes.

Edit: Darn. I found out my wife had been in the car and changed the inputs. Bluetooth as the source still auto plays. :(

I have my iPhone 5 hooked up to my car's bluetooth and noticed no difference whatsoever.
