Messages in iPad 3 Not Working

So, I have everything configured and verified, but messages that get sent to my iPhone number are not showing up on the iPad. Works fine on my two Macs with 10.8.2. Anyone else having this problem?

10 mins, wow. I'm over wifi and been at it for 1.5 hours, not even half done.
Not when you have 30mb internet speed, sorry dude no offense

This "we don't sell it, so no support" policy is the reason I will not buy another Samsung-branded phone, and now Apple is doing it as well.

+ 1E6.

Apple has lost a lot of goodwill from a long-time customer today. They used to be different in respecting customers and their purchasers. It's one of the reasons I've never switched to an Android device; the OEMs are cold and calculating and only want your cash up-front. They don't spend any effort trying to build a relationship with their customers.

The new, bigger Apple is going in exactly the same direction, which makes me sad. The old Apple had it spot-on, and they were probably the only ones in the entire world that did. Now everyone's a ruthless capitalist.

Yes, I know Apple had to make money; but they used to charm you in to giving it to them with excellent products and a no-pressure approach. Now they're withholding updates for 'business purposes' (i.e. profit).

ios 6 on iphone 3gs

(i am just going to type away. don't bother me with the grammatical errors or capitalization) thank you....so i installed ios 6 on my 3gs. took about 1 hour. its a bit slow. Safari seemed to be not as fast as before. The new app store look is ok. nothing great, but it doesn't kick you out to the homescreen. You can see the app being downloaded/updated right from the store & when it is finished, it shows a button to open the app. One thing i will test out later is if i have to input my password just to update and app. The maps app is way more detailed then the google maps was. And more colorful if that helps anyone. It is a bit slow, but then again i am running it on a 3gs. One thing i can't figure out yet is how to go to the "list results" while on navigation. The maps app now turns when in landscape mode.
The music player ui has changed a bit, but just new looks. able to see the rest of the songs belonging to the album playing, from portrait mode, instead of turning to landscape (cover flow).
do not disturb is there in settings. facebook & twitter straight from the notification center. "tap to tweet"/"tap to post"....
facebook privacy is included. I have my account set up so that when i log in from an unknown source, facebook sends me a code to sign in to verify it is really me. When i logged in with ios 6, that feature was done. i had to verify with a code. gave me a sense of security. configure settings for facebook-ios6 content through settings.
VIPS in mail is there too. i'll test it later.
new look in camera & photo app. tab for photo stream in photo app.
find my iphone was updated. new look. compass navigation. same use. Instead of tabs for sharing a photo, icons are displayed (messages icon/email icon/photo stream/twitter/facebook/assign to contact/print/copy/use as wallpaper
For now that is all, i will keep testing it out and see how it makes my 3gs run. For now it is only safari that is running slower (in my opinion). everything else is smooth. animaitons for folders/ notification center

My 4 took about half an hour to download and prepare for update and then about another half hour to run the update program. So far it seems to work fine. I'm going to enjoy "Do Not Disturb" and I see some ability to sort mail boxes (I figure I will be looking at the VIP one the most).

I will probably order the 5 once I get some hands on experience with it so it doesn't matter too much how my 4 runs with iOS6. But so far so good.

Passbook doesn't work yet, but it is one feature that I'm looking forward to, assuming it works.

Apps just started intergrating with Passbook. One of the apps that work with passbook is Fandango :)

quick dl for me...

took me 9 mins to download the software. now waiting for for my phone to finish the process.

I am using the 3Gs (will by the iPhone 5 when it comes out) so i'll edit my post for people who are curious how the update works with this phone...

Bro, the weird thing is, I'm at work now and this is a T3. Something else has to be going on.

Wifi is 5Ghz. I dunno. It'll be done eventually

Maybe i was lucky that time, i can imagine the traffic congestion by now, but good luck with that bro, and between you and me, its worth every mine when you are done with it.
cheers dude

Link to "Old" App Store??

I went to the Passbook app. All it was there was the "App Store" link. But when I clicked on it, it took me to the App store with the older tabs (Search/Top etc), and said "could not connect to iTunes store", whereas in the new App Store there is the Genius tabs etc.

Anyone else facing the same issue??
:(

I hope so. Just upgraded my iPad and Apple Maps is definitely a downgrade.

It got off to a bad start by showing all the motorways here in the UK as yellow. Any fule kno they should be blue! The satellite imagery for my area is in black & white, no street view, no public transport FAIL.

...and there was me tempted by an iPhone 5. No Google Maps soon = Samsung Time!

Good luck with CloneSung :)

I'm going to have to second (or third or millionth) about the Maps app. Google Maps at least fixed my home address so it shows at my actual complex, whereas Tom-Tom wants to put me in the drive-way of the McDonald's 2 buildings down. And I can't seem to add a pin to the correct location either - pins keep dropping in random spots.

Having just used a combination of Google Maps, Waze, and MotionX-GPS Drive on my recent road trip to Alaska & back, I can vouch for how good Google Maps worked; even MtionX-GPS uses Bing maps, and worked really well. Apple maps? Yeah, it'll be relegated back to the "not frequently used" folder on the last page of apps.

my

So many different opinions,,,one says that maps are more detailed and colorful..others that they are a downgrade...one says safari is snappier...other that is a dinosaur...what to dooooooo

Same here. Just went to Settings:Message and then turn off iMessage and turn it back on. It activated from there (had to do it on 2 ipads--mine and my wife's).

4 iPhones, 2 iPads and 3 Macs updated. All working fine. At least so far. :D

I was looking through this thread specifically to see if anyone else had this problem. I do as well. I suspect it's temporary. Glad to know it isn't just me, though.

Before I add Facebook to my stuff... Anyone braver than me can say if it adds EVERYONE you are friends with to your address book? I would not want that AT ALL!

Thanks!

You go into Privacy, then Contacts, and turn Facebook off. No integration with Address Book contacts.

Its a new application bro. Give it sometime to grow. Its like comparing Einstein's IQ and a baby's IQ and saying the baby is a moron :)

Initial thoughts on iTunes Match under iOS 6 are positive!
Artwork updating a lot faster, streaming tracks very quickly, very nice.

Only thing I'm undecided on whether its good or not is the single download button, so if you on want one track from an album you can't download just that one. You have to use the single download button for the entire album.

Still, I think most will be streamed from now on! :)
