Flyover?

How do I use this feature? It only shows me the normal map. Is there any settings??

Not so sure I like the new, lighter, UI in Music and, even more annoying, the old problem of random missing album artwork is still there :(

I downloaded iOS 6, but...

when I go to the App Store, and I try to search for anything, it tells me that I am unable to connect, but then it will let me connect to certain features, such as categories. Eventually I can connect to search, but when I try to search for the new maps, it keeps crashing. I tried to force quit, but the search continues to crash. Not ready for prime time???

Yes by all means toss out iOS because they didn't include stock an app which you can DL on the app store/view via the internet.

The overreaction to everything is hilarious!

When I searched iTunes for the YouTube app it did not bring it up. Maybe it has been recently added - but glad it is there.

Did another search from iPad and it does not bring it up. When I search on my PC I can see that app is only for iPhone.

Sort it out Apple!!!!!

It is for a child who needs apps and cannot do internet searches from scratch.

I personally do not prefer Apple products but they are great for people who like a home button and an apps button and are fed via iTunes.

Android is far superior - but that is my opinion.

The galaxy tab has a far superior volume control system, a previous page button, home button, instant pic button and a built in task manager to let you stop any app that is running. They are good features regardless of what platform you support.

I think I'll wait until iOS 6.1 to download. ... In any event one thing I wish iOS had is the option to have zero icons on the main screen. What's the point of putting a background pic (especially of people) when I can't even see their faces cause they are covered by the icons. If there's a way to have no icons on the main screen please let me know. Thanks.

For everyone bitching about Maps and YouTube...

  • Download another browser that lets you emulate a desktop browser (I use Atomic Web)
  • Get more features (Like saved maps, better interface, etc...)
  • Quit Bitching

If these two issues are driving you to a Galaxy or something else, you're quite foolish as both are better via the web, than the standalone apps.

Good for you but dont use match, fb,pasbook and all the rest are minor updates

I want multiple user accounts, live tiles, Airdrop, quick acces buttons? Better cursor navigation, set default apps,... You know things everyone will use .

The only thing I think would be useful out of your list is Airdrop.....

What you're describing sounds like a laptop. Personally, I still like having them separate at this point. I'm sure one day (probably relatively soon) they'll be one and the same.

Is anyone else's photostream down now? I am a dev and have 6 since June, but today Photo Stream went down. It was up earlier and stopped.

Notes app still doesn't carry pictures - and the images I did have on the OS X Notes app have disappeared!

I have been playing around with the new Maps:
  • It has both auto and pedestrian modes builtin (some have reported pedestrian was gone now it's there and worked for me).
  • If you select public transportation, it takes you to the App Store to buy a partner app. There is only one there for now, but it has one review for 1 star.
  • To get to flyover, switch to Hybrid or Satellite mode and the 3D icon changes to Flyover when you are over an area they have flyover data for.
  • To change the angle of 3D or Flyover, slide up/down with two fingers.
  • The disclaimer states the data comes from "TOMTOM and others".
  • Rotate two fingers to rotate the map.
  • In the "current direction up" mode, there is a small compass in the upper right hand corner.

That's all I have found for now.

*There's also a "report a problem" link under the page curl
*Show traffic only seems to color bad patches. I'm looking at I-95 outside of NYC and only see a few stretches of red. Nothing else is marked.

I'm really liking iOS 6 on my 4S and iPad 3rd gen.

Safari is definitely faster, and Siri much more responsive (can actually understand my Cockney accent, now!).

Siri integrates superbly with the new maps app where I can now simply say "show me walking directions to my mum's house" & I'm ready to roll, turn by turn.

Has anyone else noticed the increased screen brightness (noticed of both of my iOS devices).

iCloud tabs appears to be sluggish at the minute but I'm hoping that will improve.

I LOVE the fact that you can upload images to websites now, which really makes the iPad much more useful in my opinion.

Just one gripe, though ... why not a unified sent messages box in Mail??

Anyway, I'm actually really happy with iOS 6 and I feel it's definitely injected some new life into my iDevices ...

Anybody in L.A. do the ios6 update yet? Does Maps still give traffic info for surface streets, freeways etc? I totally rely on that in L.A.

Safari is quicker (ill not be using that sn- word). Mine also has a different font, and shows a double line under suggested autocorrect words.

I noticed the brightness too. It's most apparent in my quick-app-switching menu after a double click on the home button. And I'm not even running on a retina iPad.

I also saw what you mentioned in my iPad 3, but I still cannot get info of photos stored in iPhotos:confused:

I am still waiting for Siri to be enabled in my iPad.:p

The new map has not covered buildings in my hometown:confused: now I can only search with street names.
