Then don't tap it twice...

That crash is usefull when you want a quick look if you have made a change of wallpaper...

tbh. I do find most of iOS7 quite good, but design wise its awfull...it looks like more of sketch for a design than a full version...this flat of everything is a step in wrong direction and its too unpersonal for me, I do not feel like home in it. But thats the last and only rant from me about this, because I find most of the OS easy and it have a straight on usability.

Even my mother thinks its easy to use...

I'm hoping Reminders no longer needs to be running in order to use geofenced reminders.

I'm disappointed that there's been so many updates to iOS 7 in a relatively short while, it makes me wonder if Apple's really testing their iOS prior to release, thoroughly. If this was about a sub $150 phone with a buggy OS it would be a completely different matter but Apple lovers are paying a huge premium in hopes of buying a reliable, solid product.

Frequent updates to maintain and improve security is a plus, frequent updates to fix bugs for high dollar products is a minus.

Android users also face their unique share of problems but most of them relate to user tampering (i.e. rooting/modding) the device to be used in an unintended manner so it's not so much the OS as it is about the user.

Make sure your parents aren't sharing an iCloud account. I've seen something similar happen before with iMessage.

They're not, and even if they were there's no reason why two apps on my single phone should be disagreeing with each other over my call history. Whatever happens, even if it's a mistake, should be reported the same in both apps on my phone.

People always complain and always will complain ...
If Apple don't release frequent updates, they are lazy .... if they release 3 updates in two months, their os is buggy ...

7.0.4 change log speaks about a FaceTime problem, and people here whine about animations ...

iOS 7 is far from being perfect, but we have proofs they are working on it. And I really hope they are working on something more substantial than animations ....

Unlike OS X updates?

Not all OSX updates require a reboot .... By the way, could all of you be so kind to explain me what the hell has windows 7 (and OS X) to do with iOS 7.0.4, which basically is a FaceTime bug fix ?
Thank you

Lock screen status bar icons are still bigger than on the home screen/in app.

.

Could you explain me how this is to be considered a bug or something to be fixed ?
I think is a design choice and a smart one to be honest !
On the lock screen there is plenty of space and it is a good thing to have slightly bigger icons to get information with a glance.

Problem in download, says it timed out. Guess too many people are going for the update at the minute.

My update only took approximately 3-4 minutes. That being said, I still cannot sync music. I guess I will have to do a full restore.

How do you people deal with that Music app at all? Let's say all the bugs were fixed. The design is still complete crap. It punishes anyone with a large music collection, forcing them to scroll like there's no tomorrow to listen to the latest album by an artist.

Search and Siri are your friends. True for any large database of things.

Not sure if it's unparalleled, but they are pretty quick. 4 bug fix updates in less than two months is pretty good.

Then, again, they keep up this trend, and they might as well join MS for Patch Tuesday. Seems like every other week there's an iOS update... Oh wait... ;)

iPhone 5 Bricked by OTA Update

Plugged into power, started update.
Phone froze about one eighth into the update.
Forced power off, had to restore from iTunes local backup.
Only a month old.
No more updates without an immediate backup for me. ;)

Constructing a new system file

How does a 15.8 mob update require 843 mb of storage?

The update contains the changes in the OS. To create the resultant OS file, the update process must copy the OS and then apply the changes, while the old OS is still running. This means that there must be enough space to create the new OS and accommodate the change process, cutting out portions and expanding and contracting after the updates are added. Then the phone must restart using the new OS before the old OS can be deleted.

There must be enough space to copy and update the OS and restart.

Well, this did absolutely nothing to help my problem where my iPhone 5S and iPad Air get stuck on "Waiting for changes to be applied" during sync. It's been 15 minutes and my iPhone is still sitting on that step.

Waiting... waiting... waiting...

This bug is really, really annoying... But it seems that if you do what it asks (waiting...), it will sync at some point. But it can take an hour...

My 5s screen seems brighter even though it is set at the same brightness as it was before.

Safari crashed last night so hoping not to see any more now that I have updated.

Installed on iPhone 4S and iPad 3 this morning. The only hitch in the install(s) was that on my iPhone 4S, the Terms of Service (user terms) that you have to agree to...well, that screen was blank (I just clicked through to continue). Aside from that, both updates were flawless.

Preliminary Observations for 7.0.4 on my iPad 3:

1. Everything runs slower (performance seems to have taken a 5–10% hit).

2. Everything LOOKS sharper (all graphics appear better)—go figure.

3. No crashes (yet). Pre-7.0.4, my iPad would reboot (by itself, without rhyme or reason) usually 3–4x/day.

Urgh my whole phone crashed :( Never had it before. I had usage statistics showing on it since the update (I updated it while it was charging and then let it fully charge before I unplugged it) and since the crash it is saying fully charge to be able to see them.
