This may be just in my head... but TouchID seems to be much more responsive... I use my phone a lot, and prior to the update, both thumbs and index fingers on either hands were hit or miss...they're seemingly able to unlock the phone with much more accuracy now.... who knows..

I don't really get this: do people really use FaceTime or it is just a "cool" feature you're happy to have but never really make use of?

I use it a lot actually, because travels.

Also, FaceTime audio is genius with friends I know have bad cell signal in their home. Audio quality is superb!

Did the update but now my weather info won't update and it stuck on yesterday?

Weather was broken before the update. Probably something wrong at Yahoo. Actually confirmed, the Yahoo Weather app is broken as well.

TWC works.

What is "Android like" crash? I never had Android crash on any of my Android devices.

I suppose you and the three people who recommended your comment are the exception. I posted my iOS 7 experience on The Verge's Apple forum and sure enough, plenty of Apple folks came out saying that iOS 7 never crashes on them either. Hard for me to believe either of you since I have seen it first hand on both ends. I can't count the number of times I have heard my sister in law curse her Android phones (HTC Thunderbolt, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S3). Her husband has crashes too but he just considers them normal because he roots his phone and flashes nightly builds of custom ROMs even if they disable basic phone features like charging while the power is still on. She is running the stock version of the OS on the other hand.

I really wish it wouldn't default to turning bluetooth on after every update. I don't use it!

Updates happen every few weeks at most.

Turning off Bluetooth takes about one second with the control panel..

You easily wasted enough time writing this post to turn Bluetooth off about 10-15 times. Think about that.

Hopefully this does fix some battery issues. Ever since upgrading my iPhone 5 to ios7 I've had periods where my battery drains 20% in 30 minutes while not being used. Not to mention the phone shutting off and claiming to be dead battery at the 30-40% range. And yes, I've done multiple battery drains, etc to re-calibrate!

I am hoping it fixes it too. I got three iPhone 5 in the house and they all do it on iOS 7. I have AppleCare and a genius appointment on Saturday. So tired of this, I want some satisfaction.

I think you guys are missing what's there. 17.5 mb for a FaceTime bug? They obviously fixed other things. Sorry they didn't specifically cater to your issues, but hey the world doesn't revolve around you. Be upset but don't be angry.

Any word on whether this has fixed the music playback bug?

I don't know if this is an iPhone 5S only bug or if it is affecting other devices, but there is a bug where if you are playing music and unlock your phone, the music spontaneously skips back to where it was the last time you unlocked your phone. Infuriating, and also something that I would think should be very easy to fix.

I thought it was just me. Its quick. Moment you tape the home button you see icons jumping out. anyone else noticed this?

Me too. It's waaaay lame.
:mad::mad::mad:

Battery issues are almost always something that's specific to you. If you haven't visited a Genius yet go have your phone checked out. Assuming there is no hardware issue then it's your signal strength or an app or a looping process (trying to authenticate or something). No matter what you do, if you then put your phone back into the same configuration via a restore or even installing apps manually, you run the risk of putting yourself back into the same situation. With that said, most of the time setting the phone up as new and manually installing is a permanent fix. Resetting (rebooting) your phone immediately stops all the processes and stops the drain. If it's an app or process there is a chance it will come back. If it's signal strength then it will come back. There's much more but it's all already in battery-centric threads.

Sorry for the OT post.

Does this fix the constant crashing in safari?

Every time this happens I rethink my plans on buying an iPad. And it’s not only Safari. So if it happens on an iPhone with an A7 and 1gig of ram it’s going to happen on an iPad with more demanding apps.

Update went smoothly on 5s and ipad2. Wish i could add Mini Retina, perhaps in the coming weeks. :)

There are bugs that will never be fixed just like there are bugs in iTunes that have existed for years.

It's not just about bug but core functionality that's been stripped out. Shuffle buttons all over the place under artist view that always shuffle all songs. Those aren't needed. It's like a slap in the face. Hey wanna shuffle just this one album of an artist?? NOT SUCKER!!!, GOTTA GO TO THE ALBUM TAB AND SEARCH, MUAHAHAHAHA.

But the bigger issue is that the music app crashes all the time for many people. iTunes Radio crashes a lot for many.

Also the graphical glitches all over the place. It just shows a lack of polish. Apple is all about polish and now it seems they are just patching minor bugs in tiny updates Only show stopping major bugs should get that attention like the lock screen and pass code bugs obviously.

But FaceTime calls failing? Really? Your freaking radio service crashes randomly whenever it feels like. And that's a money maker. Just feels like the priorities are off a little bit here.

The clearly did, and even mention that in the notes provided for the update--in particular there are often security fixes, as well as stability and performance ones, in addition to any more specific ones for specific issues (like the FaceTime issue in this case). In fact, some of the security fixes included in this release might have been the only main important thing, but they included another customer facing thing (like the FaceTime fix) to go along with it as it was ready to go.

After reading all this thread, I was way to scary to update my iPhone 5.

I held my breath and downloaded. Only 17 MB, but the whole reboot seemed forever. About 15 minutes or so.

Actually I haven't realized there was a critical fix for *FaceTime*. It worked for me without glitches under 7.0, 7.0.1 and 7.0.3.

I don't play music on my phone, so I can't talk about this app.

For those of you who had random reboots/respringing... has this update fixed them? Just asking because it's been only a couple of hours since I installed it, and my phone has yet to experience one running on this update.

All the best,
^MPY

TWC works.

I was using it yesterday and it was fine.

Any app that relies on Internet data can fail at times.

FYI it's back up now...
