Do we have to have a flood of these tired and inane "jokes" in every single iOS/MacOS update thread? C'mon people - you are neither original nor funny.

firstly, complaining abut this kind of stuff is exactly as useful as complaining about the weather. secondly, the one about the touch id is not a gag. somebody mentioned that earlier in another post. at least in my case, touch id became a fraction slower after 7.1. On the big plus side the fade was gone completely. I haven't had to reregister my fingerprints after 7.1 even once and I was doing it about once a week before that. but it was a bit slower than before 7.1 - not terribly so but still. Now, after 7.1.1 it seems to be back to being as fast as it was in 7.0. I just hope the fade doesn't come back.

Yep, but it's not my fault Apple puts a mediocre 16 GB in their phones.
Well, you can always get a model with more space, it's your choice which one you get. And, even with 16 GB, you can still manage it just fine if you want to (I have for years with an iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 as well).

Dunno if this was new in 7.1, but my phone prompted me for my passcode prior to installing the OTA.
Happened on some updates before as well, just not consistent (for whatever reason).

Agreed. The last time Apple gave us a bump in storage for the same price was in 2008. Insane really.
They've offered more storage for a long long time, it's just a personal decision as to whether or not you want/need it.

No it's not, but usually Apple just randomly decides to take away your storage space filled with "Other" crap that just grows uncontrollably over time.

It's pretty hard to actually use your phone and still have storage space left if you have a 16GB phone.
While the "other" issue can and does happen sometimes, it's not the case a lot of the time, and even then there are ways to deal with it and/or avoid it. Speaking from personal experience with 16 GB iPhone 4 and now iPhone 5, while it might not the the simplest thing out there, it's not actually hard to keep at least 2-3 GB free on the phone (I tend to have more than 5 GB free most of the time actually). Depend on your needs, but if you need more, you can always get a device with more space too.

Although I agree with you, its a joke that they even offer 16GB.
They offer even 8 GB in various places/cases. For many that only use their phone as a phone with some texting and email and perhaps a bit of browsing even 8 GB would be just fine, and certainly 16 GB would be more than plenty. It all mainly depends on the needs and use of one phone.

So many updates this morning.
Just updated my 5S and iPad mini and all looks good. Apple TV update also done. security update just finished.
Now I can go back to bed. :)

Apple password was rejected during the update process. Oh well. I will wait a few days. I doubt the update would do much for my I5.
