A cup holder is not essential to the product. A Buggatti is a fast car, it should be able to drive fast.

An iPhone is a smartphone, it should be able to run apps, store music and photos properly while offering a smooth OS update experience. With 16 GB, that is *not* possible if you use your phone more than a little bit.

Tell that to the millions of owners out there with no trouble.

You may be more of a "power user" than you think, or a digital packrat.

So a $1000 phone is not suited for power users? That's ridiculous, don't you think?

I'm going to give it a try, but I'm convinced my issues are hardware related.

Touch ID worked nearly flawlessly for me from the beginning. Then, as time went on it got progressively worse. I retrained it a couple of times, and it would improve for a few days, or a couple of weeks, then start going down hill again. About 2 1/2 months ago I had the hardware replaced, and it's been perfect since. Even better than the original. In fact, I can even use it fresh out of the shower, and the wrinkles on my fingers don't throw it off much.

I was getting great results before 7.1 (after the hardware replacement).

Let's hope that they address some of the battery drain issues that came with iOS 7.1! Apple just sent me a new replacement iPhone 5S with iOS 7.0.6 yesterday due to the software draining the battery so quickly! Definitely reluctant to upgrade until I hear something positive on this issue.

Dammit! This stupid battery drain is pissing me off. Any word if there was a fix included in this update??

My ip5 just auto restarted after installing 7.1.1 through ota and now its at the recovery screen.. wtf?!

Same here!

iPhone 5s (UK) was running 7.1.. did an OTA to 7.1.1 and it booted back into recovery mode!

Tiny Umbrella can't kick it out so it looks like I have to restore!

theres an security update on the mac too or is that a bit older and just popped up for me

Nope, I just got that too!

I wonder if there are some Heartbleed fixes involved here...despite Apple promising "key" services aren't affected.

It is annoying, my iPhone cant make it through a single day. But i'd rather just carry around a charger with me then an iPhone on 7.06 or go through hthe hassle of replacements.

What exactly did 7.1 or 7.1.1 give us that 7.0.6 didn't with good battery life? A redesigned dialer? Auto HDR? CarPlay? I'd rather have the other half of my battery back.

I get drop outs with Airplay to my Airport Express with my Ip5. Everything is at the latest version. Hopefully this fixes the problem. If not, one more disapointment.

Hotspot Issue Fixed Too

In the previous iOS 7.1 it was not possible to save the APN for the Personal Hotspot of providers not supported by Apple. Even previous enetered data dissappeared. Every attempt to enter the data failed, as they were not saved. Now, after updating to iOS 7.1.1 the original data appeared again, without re-entering them. Great.

Cause they simply shouldn't ship a product that's mediocre at a premium price level. I paid $900, that's more than twice the price of the competition. At that price, you should get decent storage. Period.

If you feel so strongly that the storage isn’t adequate at that price point, don’t buy it! Why agree to buying a device that has a clearly stated amount of storage which doesn’t live up to your expectations, then complain about said amount of storage when you bought it fully aware of how much space it had?

He's gonna be really mad if the rumors of the $100 price increase of the iPhone 6 are true :D
