My ip5 just auto restarted after installing 7.1.1 through ota and now its at the recovery screen.. wtf?!

Which device do you use?

I have the same question.

I was wondering that too... Really hate the slow animation. And it only happens when opening Notification Center or Control Center. Other animations are working well. Finding this strange. :p

Btw, I have an iPhone 4S. Not the most recent phone, but overall it's very smooth. So that can't be the problem.

I feel like this happens after every update? Why does Apple insist on shoving bluetooth down people's throats?

I've never felt that turning on the bluetooth after an OS install has never made me feel like they are shoving it down my throats!

It's quite possible they're turning on the WiFi and cellular too, but if you already have it on, you wouldn't notice. I'd rather have them turn something on than find out (days later) that it turned my cellular off.

had to restart my Airport Express after the update in order to have it working with my phone...possibly a sign of things to come. :)

Time I started downloading the *.ipsw: 18:50
Current time: 20:43
Time remaining to get rid off all the sync errors: ???

:(

Edit: now it's downloading 7.1.1 again even though I already have it on my phone. Arrrrrrrrrgh.

Touch ID has gotten super quick. I'd say it's back to pre-iOS 7.1 levels, if not faster.

What do you mean by "back pre-iOS 7.1 levels" ? As far I can remember - Touch ID in 7.0 was slow and unreliable.

I buy a premium phone and it comes with crappy storage. That's just bad customer service.

this is not what you'd call "customer service", rather a "mediocre offer".

EDIT: great customer service comes with the "overpriced" 16GB.

How is it bad customer service when you could have bought a model with a higher capacity and chose not to?

You chose the phone that came with the lowest amount of storage. Apple did not force you. Customer service does not enter into the equation.

'In-App Purchase' is now displayed in small writing under the price of an app in the App Store.

Who says anything about forcing?

I'm just saying offering a premium phone with a premium price tag with mediocre storage is bad.

Why not change the camera to 2 MP with no AF and charge $100 extra for flash, $100 extra for video and another $100 extra for 8 MP?

Cause they simply shouldn't ship a product that's mediocre at a premium price level. I paid $900, that's more than twice the price of the competition. At that price, you should get decent storage. Period.
