There is an option for parallax like effect in wallpaper settings that is separate from the overall reduce motion option.

Reduce motion is in Accessibility settings (enabling it turns off Parallax and zoom effects).
Parallax can be turned on/off in Wallpapers & Brightness when selecting a wallpaper, but only if you have Reduce Motion off.

In other words, your options are

Parallax off, "zoomy windows mode" off.
Parallax off, "zoomy windows mode" on.
Parallax on, "zoomy windows mode" on.
Parallax on, "zoomy windows mode" off.

Yep. My favorite feature of 7.1 so far is that you can turn it off. My wallpapers were perfectly sized for iP5 and iOS6.

But you can't though? The only thing you see is what parallax is? Once you toggle perspective zoom on/off it doesn't actually zoom.

Everything is even faster on my iPhone (so it seems to be a nice update), except one thing. I'd like to know if it is only apparent to me. The slide-up animation of the control center is kind of choppy if I pull it out on the lock screen. It's not something that I couldn't live with, but it's still noticeable.

Yeah, it appears a bit choppy. Tell me, do you think they've reduced the translucency? I feel like they kinda have. :/

If your device is still showing iOS 7.0.6 as the latest update, try rebooting and then looking for updates. That should refresh the software update section and recognize 7.1 is out.

My gripe was the transparency disappeared, and my folders were solid grey. It seems 7.1 turned on "Reduce Transparency". All is well and transparent again. Just a note for dopes like me.:D

I'm not seeing any battery performance improvements on my iPad Mini. In fact, the thing seems to drain MORE quickly.

The tablet really is noticeably quicker and the performance smoother overall. Just disappointed, so far, with battery loss.

How can you talk about battery performance, when the update has only been out 2 hrs?

I agree that it's superior, but the tab reloading problem is still there..

Sure it is, particularly on the iPads. (On iPhones, it's much less acute a problem.) But at least now it crashes only later, after loading more pages - particularly on iPhones, which are MUCH more stable WRT Safari & UIWebView.

I'm lovin it... No tabs have reloaded yet!

You think the new green for phone/FaceTime is so the color gamut reduction on rMini is less noticeable?

Two things I don't like abut iOS7 straight away...

1. Why should I need to switch off the list of appointments under the Month View, just to go into Day View?!
2. I miss the old "Cary Grant" voice for the UK...he was a bit sarcastic and I liked that ;)

edit:
Make that 3...I can't Reduce Motion without losing the Yahoo Weather animations :(
