AARRRRGGGGHHH what kind of joke is this?

I suggest doing the update on the phone itself. I had the update available before it was even posted on MacRumors (just by a minute or two - I lucked into it since I got back from lunch at just the right moment). It shows up as available. Maybe the iTunes downloader pings a different server?

No one will want this toy looking android rip off iOS, remember. Everyone is waiting for them to bring back Forstall so he can have his 'Steve jobs' style return and save the company.

Your weed seems like good weed, I'd like some....

So, not sure why I never thought of this - but I can just tether my iPad mini to my GS4 and download the update.....it doesn't realize my hotspot connection is also a data connection (not traditional wifi).....

Unfortunately, now that I'm on a 5 GB data plan, I'll need to monitor it the rest of the month after using almost a full GB for the update. Still.....worth it :D

32 minutes remaining.....:p

I had my iPhone plugged into my MBP when updating. Got the error message several times. Unplugged from the Mac (also not plugged into the wall, and at 100%) and seems to be working fine. Probably just a coincidence but may be worth a try.

Still getting the same error message every time, despite rebooting twice... the annoying part is it doesn't seem to remember where you left off and starts over every time... anyone else noticing this?

iPad?

I'm not gunna update my 4S but I will for my iPad Mini. Going to wait for my 5S for the iOS7 mobile experience.

I don't see an update for the iPad through iTunes, by clicking the "check for update" button. I'm downloading though the iPad general settings. I've never seen the gears move on the settings app icon, that's kind of cool.

Just Finished

Started downloading the update just after 1:00 pm ET. The download took about 10 mins, preparing the update took about 20 mins, and the install process about 15 mins. All together, it took 45 minutes, but that was because I luckily didn't experience any errors in the process. Sounds like I was one of the few.

Good luck, everyone! Hopefully the process will get smoother soon!

I think I hit the "Retry" button about 1,069 times. However, the effort paid off as it is now downloading. Started at 10 minutes remaining. Now at 6 minutes.

I'm already running the GM build on my iPhone 5, so the only update for me was a Carrier Settings update which took about ten seconds!

I've manually downloaded iTunes from the Apple website as it wasn't showing up in Software Update, that took only a few minutes and is installed and working just fine.

(So - anyone who's having problems getting the automated iTunes update, try the main Apple website, as you may find that the installer is cached locally to you).

Why is there no ****ing hard download on iTunes.com for 11.1? WHY. Software update DOES NOT ****ING WORK. This is so stupid.

Preparing update now. Stuck about 95% and still processing....arhhhhh!!!!

The anticipation is killing me.

Yep, I made it to 1 minute remaining via the OTA update and it failed. Now, starting over, it says 27 minutes remaining. It's a shame they haven't built resume functionality into the OTA downloads.

can anyone confirm that iTunes Radio has unlimited skips for match subscribers? i've read many conflicting answers.

It does not. I've been using it since the first day beta 1 was released. iTunes Match only provides an ad free experience - you are still limited to I believe 5/6 skips per hour.
