no error, nothing!! just the message that my software is up to date.

Try restarting all your devices, and do OTA update instead of through iTunes.

Are you some 12 year old that has no idea how software works?

Apple's servers are being SHATTERED with over a quarter of a million people trying to download iTunes 11.1 and iOS 7. They don't have unlimited bandwidth you know.

Patience, my friend. Otherwise, have fun with your "GS5."

I'm sure there are more than 250,000 people updating right now. I'd say at least close to 2 million.

However, most people probably won't even know its available yet or know what ios7 even is.

iTunes doesn't recognize the iOS7 update. Even with the new version of iTunes. Weird. don't really want to update over the air. Wifi issues may cause more drama.

Anyone else having an issue with iTunes not recognizing the update?

iOS 7 update

2-3 minute download via WiFi, 15-20 minutes of "preparing", it is installing now. Even the progress bar at the Apple logo screen looks new, it may just be me.

No one will want this toy looking android rip off iOS, remember. Everyone is waiting for them to bring back Forstall so he can have his 'Steve jobs' style return and save the company.

Better Functionality =/= Better Appearance.

People will upgrade for new functionality even if Forstall's design was better.

I have no real feelings either way, but iOS7 adoption will have little to do with whether people prefer calendars that look like calendars and notepads that look like notepads.

Been checking every few minutes since I saw that MR posted it was out. Finally made it past the error message. Over air - 24 minutes left.

I suggest doing the update on the phone itself. I had the update available before it was even posted on MacRumors (just by a minute or two - I lucked into it since I got back from lunch at just the right moment). It shows up as available. Maybe the iTunes downloader pings a different server?

Unfortunately trying it via OTA returns an error.

I am one hour into the download and it is still going. :( I started 4 minutes after this article was posted.

Thank you! Now the blue bar just seems to be stuck in the very end of the "preparing Update" status....well...waiting...
I had a bit of a wait at the preparing part too. you should be in the clear if you are at that point. :) and you are welcome as well! Glad I could help. :D

Still getting the same error message every time, despite rebooting twice... the annoying part is it doesn't seem to remember where you left off and starts over every time... anyone else noticing this?

yup. same behavior here. Oh well. It'll work later after the throngs of downloaders have thinned a bit.

Lol

I literally tried fifty times just hitting retry on my iPhone to get the download to begin. It made me retry EACH of those fifty times. Then it finally let me through, but the download naturally did not work. And now it's making me retry each time because "an unknown error" keeps occurring. Come on Apple. It's not like you didn't have any experience with this sort of thing. No one saw this coming?
