No one will want this toy looking android rip off iOS, remember. Everyone is waiting for them to bring back Forstall so he can have his 'Steve jobs' style return and save the company.

Slip into your PJs because you're dreaming.

Even during his last year and a half at Apple, Steve Jobs came to appreciate (or at least pretended to appreciate) the value of owning up to not being perfect and apologizing to your customers even if you're really thinking in the back of your mind, "What a bunch of effing cry babies!" Remember Jobs on stage during the Antennagate stuff? He said something along the lines of "We're not perfect, phones aren't perfect, but we're working our butts off and we want to make our customers happy."

Scott Forstall apparently couldn't get over his ego enough to sign his name to a letter with Tim Cook apologizing for the mess that was/is Apple Maps. Forstall didn't have to go out in front of the media. All he had to do was sign his name to a document and he refused to do it.

Verifying update!!! :D

Ota....had to restart update once but so far so good....phone has just rest!,

I'm so freaking excited about this.

After it failing upwards of a dozen times, I have finally reached the Preparing Update phase, which is where it appears to be stuck... here we go again...

yea I pretty much always try to do ith through the computer, hardwired in... seems to go faster and easier than OTA....

Started downloading at 6 min and it looks like thats about what its going to be... we'll see....

Several error and restarts later, it looks like I'm making progress. The only thing I've done so far is trying over and over. This is certainly the farthest it has made it so far.

It's pathetic that Apple can't handle this update properly. Maybe they should take some of that bonus money from their failure of a CEO and buy some more servers. Meanwhile, Microsoft pushes patches every Tuesday to the 98% of the world using Windows.

There is no server that can handle thousands, even perhaps millions, of hits happening on top of each other. Not to mention there are also issues of the connection path to the server. How do you know it's the servers and not the ISPs at fault. You don't.

Microsoft can handle it because they are pushing it. Which means they can roll it out a bit at a time as needed. And they are often pushing much smaller amounts of data so Time Warner etc don't freak out and start throttling connections

iTunes on my computer said I was up-to-date even after the iPhone said the update was available.

It took five tries to get it to start downloading.

The download was *VERY* slow. About half an hour, over a plenty-fast internet connection.

The upgrade itself is currently going on, just past the Apple logo on the progress bar. (So 55-65% done.)

My iPhone 4S is the 'trail device' in my house. I'll show it off to my wife and let her decide if she wants to upgrade her 4.

Ok, very quick. does anyone know if ios 7 GM that was previously released for developer is the same as this public release? just out of curiosity

Thanks

iTunes shows the update now but says I do not have permission to access the requested source...''

woop woop download via itunes. ETA 10min
