Final steps

Apple is on the screen progress bar is moving. Should be 1hr 41 min with a few errors thrown in. It's up ios 7 woohoo

Well, I just downloaded and installed IOS7 on my iPad 4 and for the brief period of time I've been using it, I'm pretty much blown away. I purposely avoided too much exposure to the OS in order for it to be somewhat of a surprise, and I must say it worked! It looks so clean and modern, and it also seems to run faster then did IOS 7.

Unfortunately, based on what I've read, I should not expect nearly the same experience with my iPhone 4 so I'll most likely be avoiding it. I would really like to have the ability to block certain messages and phone calls though, so I'm still tempted. This is also making me tempted to get the iPhone 5S which I'm sure was Apple's intention to begin with. Very clever, Bond.

Yes - my iPad 3 keeps erroring out, but my iPhone 5 downloaded and is now rebooting on the very first try.

Both OTA

after much trying both iPads are now preparing update. hopefully this is it.
iPhone looks good. bit different. need to get used to. but overall I like it.
just wish the colours were a bit less "acid" hard to describe.

anyway to download the ipsw ? i want a clean restore.

When you plug your phone into your computer, iTunes will ask you if you want to download and upgrade or just download. After that, you can do a clean restore. I'm doing the same.

I can't even get my iPhone to recognize that there is a update. Go to general-software update, and all it does is sit there saying checking for update for the last 10 minutes...You guys are lucky! So I guess I will just have to download the iTunes 11.1 and then do it from my iTunes instead of OTA.

I'm using Beta 3 on my iPad & it's still giving me "up to date message" any idea why? even when I tried with iTunes

Wow, I don't like the new look, although I'm sure I'll get used to it. IMO it is visually 'cheap' compared to iOS6.

The moving icon effect is odd and jittery looking. I'm using a iP4S so maybe that's why. I have a custom background so I'll give a stock background a try.

Also there seems to be a noticeable operational lag.

Actually, for Google's Nexus phones, they are able to rollout OS updates gradually so it doesn't kill their servers. Apple should really consider it.

Google even allows it for their app store as well which is great for developers worried about pushing out buggy updates.

I suspect there is at least an order of magnitude difference between iOS users and Google Nexus owners.

I got it downloaded, but it will not pass "Verifying Update". It keeps saying that the Software Update is not available. I'll wait a while then try again.

But are we really comparing rolling out an update for MAYBE 5 million phones versus the HUNDREDS of millions of iOS devices out there?

People need to get a grip. It'll take some time, get over it. Go back to work.

iPhone 4 benefits from iOS7 as well, I have one as well.

My iTunes doesn't have the download (still says 6.1.3), but the update is available on software update on the device. Check your device software update if iTunes is not showing it for you.

Also, when is the jailbreak coming out? :D

People are still jail breaking.... why?

Does anyone even know what "preparing update" even means? I've got this far and its just taking years. What is it even doing?

Finally got it installed. Now im stuck at your iphone could not be activated because the apple servers could not be reached. Anyone else having this problem? Kinda stupid my phone needs to be activated for a new os considering i did a ****ing year ago. Keeping me without my main source of contact is not something that should happen apple. Get your head from your ass.
