Downloaded it, but after verifiying it says "Update server not available"

Maybe later tonight!

been trying to activate for over an hour now, very disappointing from a multi billion dollar company

depressing

I was excited to see the update, but held off this time to see how other's were weathering the update.

Seems for every 20 posts about bricked phones, slower speeds, battery drains, confusion with the UI, difficulties reading, etc. there's only an very rare post that it went well and the user is happy.

At first I figured a large portion of the negative posts would be due to servers getting slammed and users not taking to change well, but after reading through about 15 pages of postings, there are just far too many negative experiences to blame resistance to change, etc.... I think I'll sit out IOS7 for as long as possible.

Where are all the folks who had no problem, love the new look, and can attest to some kind of increased performance or better battery life?

I just kept going and going. I had a ton of the same responses but eventually succeeded. Even the verification took over 20 tries. You can quit and start over it will pick up where it left off just like a Mac does in a download from the app store.

Took over five times to download, I've been trying to install for almost an hour now (29 times to be exact). Did it take you this much?

Those people are enjoying their phones instead of complaining about their phones on a forum. The complainers are always the loudest, as those content will just go on with their lives.

I was hoping they would release 7.0.1 to address the iMessage issues. Me and a number of people I know are having this problem where every message we send says "not delivered" but gets delivered. This has been happening on multiple devices a day after the GM seed was given to developers.

Airdrop only supports and iPhone 5 and iPad 4 and iPad Mini

Thanks for that!

I was wondering if that was the case. I didn't see that written anywhere. Funny, I'll have to tell the Apple rep on hold now, since they have figured it out yet. lol. Guess I'll have to wait until Friday to see that.

edit: The rep just confirmed your statement.

Just tried, workes fine here. maybe you don't have the correct touch! :)

Are you on an iPhone 4S? I have been swiping to search for years just fine so I don´t think it´s my incorrect touch hehe

Does it have to be activated anywhere? I tried several times, nothing. :(

I have the 5. Maybe it's one of those non 4X features? Seems strange but who knows.

But to be serious. You need to swipe all the way from the edge! Are you doing that? no in-the-middle-crap-ass-swiping :)

In case you missed my reply, underneath the time, where it says the current temperature- tap that text. Voila! The new, animated graphically visual Apple weather.

We're talking about notification center correct? Where you slide down from the top, and it gives you a summary of your calendar and a weather description of the current day? There's no where to click, just text. It says powered by yahoo, which is underlined, but you can't tap it.

I'm on iPad I don't know if it's different.

Anyone know how to close apps running in the background when you double click the home button. The preview of the apps that are open is nice but how do you now close them? Apologies if this has been covered before.

Yes...you will see the icons at the bottom, and the screen shots above.. Just touch the screen shot of the app and flick it up...and it's closed! Very nice!

The new swipe gesture, where you with a swipe can go back or forward a page. It should be available in settings and safari but I can´t get it to work anywhere.

Took me a while to get used to as well. Try starting with your finger literally on the left bezel & sliding slowly right.

Will take some getting used to. I like a lot of the new design. Dislike some of it as well.

Can't decide whether the parallax effect is gimmicky looking or a good implementation. It definitely helps separate the "flat" layers. But it's not uber-smooth/truly natural looking.

Reseted my iphone 5 cant activate iphone ):

After updating ios7 with today's update,
I reseted the iphone and it cam get through the activation...
It says it can't access the apple server and to try again later...
Does anybody knows if all activation servers are down?

Likely, but what are the benefits of this update anyway? So far, all I've heard is that it looks different and swiping is different. Haven't read any posts about improved performance or battery life. Seems that a more efficient OS with easier to render icons would make the most recent devices fly, but I haven't read any reports of anything being improved at all.

My sister's phone...

Tap the whole summary so to speak.

Had problem upgrading on iphone 4

Always get error saying no permission.

On iphone 4 click on Software Update under General and it says:

iOS 6.1.3
Your software is up to date.

Give the activation servers a chance.

Clean install can be done via itunes or you can just do a reset and erase all from the phone, effectively the same thing.

I did a clean install from itunes, and there is no way to get to my settings to reset anything I am stuck on the activation screen
