And to clarify things: THIS WAS A REGULAR NFC-ACCEPTING SODA MACHINE. No special requirement for the merchant to support ApplePay.

There's one thing for sure, NFC payments have a long way to go when a great many people who actually frequent a tech news site have no idea how it works, let alone the general public.

Tip:

If you have disabled your email address under "You can be reached for messages at:" in iMessage (and are only using your phone number) turn the email back on in your messages settings and try it again.

Nope. And the icon's should appear as soon as you're using an app that supports it? I'm just wondering if I don't really understand it.

So, on iPhone, I open Safari and the icon on my Mac should appear straightaway?

That's the gist of it?

Is there a reason to NOT enable iPhoto Cloud Library? I understand it is in beta but interesting that Apple's default is to not have it turn on. Is this because Photos for Mac isn't yet available?

So far it feels just like beta 2 and they still didn't fix the statusbar showing up when viewing a picture within messages!!! And there is still a slight pause when initially launching some third party apps. (Zoom in on a pic and you'll see statusbar elements.)

lol there's a reason why I spent more on the 128GB version, I always have like 5GB left on my devices. =/ There's no point in getting the biggest model if you're not going to need or be able to use most of it!

I learned back in 1978 when I bought my 16K TRS-80 Microcomputer to always get the most amount of RAM/storage you possibly can. You will either fill it up, or you'll never have to worry about having enough. One of the two. It took me about 2 weeks before I got the expansion interface and all 32K of additional RAM. Been maxing out things as much as possible ever since.

The below worked for me :)

I have already tried that, nothing here..

Didn't Apple say that the NFC chip will only work with Apple Pay, not any other form of NFC?

If you see this logo on the register it will work with ApplePay:

They do, but mostly here in the states. Overseas it's pretty common place, and they're well ahead of the us here in the U.S.

Why do iOS updates so often ask you to re-enter your iCloud password when you update, and set up iMessage and Facetime again? Can't it use the defaults?

It's no big deal for me, but for non-technical types like some in my family, I get calls asking why they're being asked to enter their password, which I believe is a legitimate question considering it was working before.

Still No Bluetooth Connectivity

I have updated my iPhone 6 Plus to 8.1 today and have Yosemite on my 2014 rMBP 15.4". I can connect my iPad to the rMBP but still have problems with the iPhone 6 connecting. Any suggestions?

Pretty much this. This explains how much RAM to get in the computer since the 1950s.

how about you keep reading.

Look, I've scrolled past about a dozen of your posts where you have backtracked when people have called you out.

Maybe you should just call it a day and go outside, or at least go troll somewhere else.

After installing ios 8.1 i get this: Unable to download item please try again later

anybody else?

No need to be rude.
None of the verifications worked for me. However, I have called two of the banks, and they were able to fix the problems at their end. A third bank said their system is down for a few hours due to "updating."
"First Day Issues" I guess. One knowledgeable person mentioned that the verification process will most likely go smoother in the near future as the "day 1" issues are resolved.
