I hate that it's 69 MB on my iPhone 5, I have a 3 GB monthly cap, and I can't download it via LTE.

OK so 6+ is 127mb right now with 50 mins remaining. IT just went down to 7 mins really dang quick!...now 5 mins! Now 3 mins! Now 2 mins! now back up to 5mins
ipad 3 is 69.1 - update requested - went from that to 10 mins remaining in 5 mins! Now up to 12 mins!
I can't get my ipad 2 to check for an update...I got to it too late.

Me too. That's weird. I thought it would be faster and better to update connected to iTunes.

Anyway, what's is the difference between updating through iTunes vs. just using your iOS device?

My phone has said an update is available for about ten minutes. However, iTunes is still saying I have the most current version.

Eager to see if Apple Pay functionalities can work on an iPhone in Canada (for online transactions at least).

Canada already has a ton of chip card readers that work 10% of the time - it's ridiculous. Apple Pay could drop in and solve that here quickly, so I hope Canadian credit card issuing banks go with Apple Pay quickly.

But at the very least I am hoping Apple Pay works for online transactions in Canada

I will update but I'm going to wait until later tonight and will wait on what others are reporting.

for those of you planning to jailbreak remember not to do this OTA

Well, I know there are rumors of an iOS jailbreak being worked on, but odds are it won't happen with 8.1 - I expect there will be at least one or two point releases between now and then.

But if the jailbreak comes sooner than expected, I can always backup and then restore via iTunes before jailbreaking. :D

Eff McDonald's. You can use this almost anywhere.

Not true. The amount of NFC enabled terminals in the US is extremely small. I'm sure the number will grow but it is not mainstream yet. And btw, just because it has a NFC/Paypass terminal doesn't mean it will work. Many companies have them disabled because of the extra costs involved.

I just don't get why it's a larger file if I have a beta installed already. You'd think the opposite would be true?

A 2.2gb update is huge on my 16gb 6 plus!

Because it's downloading and installing the entire iOS file, not just the incremental update.

My iPhone shows it's available, however itunes says 8.0.2 is the current version.

Naturally, there's not enough free space on the iPhone for an OTA update.

If you're running a beta and don't know how to update to the final 8.1, chances are you shouldn't be running a beta

Considering Apple rolled out an OTA update to the final build for folks on beta 2? Not as hard as you make it out to be. :)
