Apple Releases iOS 8 With Continuity, Third Party Access to Keyboards/Touch ID, Family Sharing, and 'Health' App

11 hours?

Hi all,
Updating my 5S via iTunes, but it says it's gonna take 11 hours! Should I just cancel and retry again, or should I just continue and wait and maybe after an hour or so it'll go faster because of the servers?
 
What the BEST & Easiest to use Keyboard for iOS8?

Ok, I'm all updated & also getting the new iPhone 6 on Friday via a confirmed pre-order. I'm ready to start using something that's fast & accurate for making texting & emails more efficient. Ideas? Thanks! :apple:

But don't you have to upgrade your current phone to be able to backup your new one because the OS is different?

SwiftKey! I used this when I had a Note 2 for awhile and it was amazing!
 
Near 2 hours to install

On my iPhone 5 32GB, I am installing over wifi. The download took about 10 minutes. It is near finished installing, I am on my second black screen with the Apple logo progress bar. The entire install took about 110 minutes. Be prepared for this to take some time.

I have OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 and nothing works, continuity, calling, handoff, airdrop,hotspot nada ! :mad:
 
Does this update fix the undeletable stored iMessages tying up precious memory that occurred on the iOS 7 update?
 
Getting Apple update server connection error every time I try to update now. Thought now would be a good chance to try again after the rush earlier. Clearly not.
 
... how do I do it so iTunes downloads the update and then I can sync it over? Just "Check for Update"? Dunno if that updates iTunes or also iOS. "The iTunes update server could be contacted" which is kind of a bummer.
 
Wait!!!

I would normally wait for 2 weeks to download the new OS but since I'm getting the new phone on Friday, I can't wait but I look forward to downloading this on my iPad.

plug in your iDevice via USB and it should pop up an update is available, or you can go to the device summary and click check for update
 
Just curious why did my Lifetime and current call timers change after the update? They both say 1 hour 23 minutes....That's how long it took to update. Thanks
 
Mine has been installing for 1h 10 mins (Apple logo and full progress bar). This is a bit ridiculous.
 
Does anyone else still have the old iOS 7 iBooks icon instead of the one that looks like the new Safari bookmarks icon in iOS 8? Just curious
 
both my devices are now updated.. With the iPhone .. just remove your music and photos from iTunes and just add it back to free up space.. no big deal…..
