Are previews enabled in both cases?

Also quick reply the ability to swipe left on a message alert from the lock screen is not working properly on the Public Release. Multiple users are reporting they are only seeing an "x" from the lock screen when they try to swipe left to bring up reply-------they are able to swipe down on a message banner and quick reply that way but they can't from the lock screen.

Well that's ridiculous, why would these features have been removed?
 
Sending iMessages to NON iPhone Users

A LITTLE HELP HERE!!!!

I thought with iOS8 & the Yosemite Beta I was going to seamlessly to be able to send text messages from my MacBook Pro to non iPhone Users.... those other phones.

Id there some setting or magic I need to make this happen?

Wasn’t this a touted feature????

I downloaded it from iTunes in less than 5 mins. Must be spotty
 
Photostream Album?

Sorry, but where has the Photostream album gone?

It has disappeared from my phone.

Before IOS8 when I took a picture it was both in my camera roll, and in the photo stream album when uploaded.
If I did not want a picture to get streamed to other devices (I take quite a few of those at work), I could easily go into the photo stream album, delete them from there. Then they would get deleted from the stream but be kept on my iPhone.

Now, the only way to get them removed from the stream is to delete the photo completely from the phone.... Not nice.... Or am I missing something??
 
Loving all the new features so far. Especially the swipe to delete emails, the instant text/take pic/send action, and Send My Current Location. :apple:

They've removed it until Yosemite is released to the public.

Looks like I got an opening. Just managed the download in less than 5 minutes, as yourself. It's a game of luck, clearly.
 
Well, until now everything seems faster and smoother than iOS 7 (iPhone 5s); only, the loss of "camera roll" it's a BIG mistake! Hope Apple will put the roll back in a future upgrade, instead of "last photos" (or how it's called in english, maybe "recently added"?)....

iPhoto is not compatible with iOS 8, but data is migrated to photos app.

Is message preview on lock screen enabled? That's probably what you're missing.

No new app for iPhoto. All part of the new native photos app, which has been massively improved feature wise.

Apparently SMS relay is delayed until Yosemite is launched proper.

Yes. Only when plugged in and charging due to battery use. Also it's not enabled by default. You need to go and enable it in settings.

Photo App

Any ideas on how to get the Photo app to display like it did in iOS 7? At the moment its categorised by year, month :confused:

It was on iOS 7 too, if you were in the photos tab. Otherwise try the albums tab and look at 'recently added'

It's been changed from Camera Roll to Recently Added. Have you tried there?
 
Bluetooth Discovery issue after IOS 8

Hi,

Anyone got problems on discovering devices on bluetooth? Mine does not work now after loading IOS 8 and observed it on few other devices (4S , 5S , Ipad Air) tried the workarounds like resetting network settings but to no avail.

Bluetooth is okay for existing devices, only problem is cannot pair new devices.

Yeah, in terms of performance and aesthetics, IOS 7 still worse that IOS 8. IOS 8 is like a breath of fresh air for my aging 4S.
 
I enjoyed all the 'it needs Xgb to download' comments earlier ( I was on a train so wasn't going to try it) so when I got home pluged phone into imac to charge and updated. Worked seemlessly. Siri became a man but fixed that and exploring the rest.

Just checked iCloud.com and iCloud Drive and settings have been added to it so they must have come out of beta, has this already been reported and i've missed it or..?
