Is the home screen rotation on the 6s+ supposed to be this sticky? No matter how much I turn the phone, it stays locked until I interact with it - pull down search, swipe to another page, or open an app folder.

Once I do that, though, it switches instantly (and when I'm inside mail/messages/etc. the display rotates with the phone like I'd expect). This is my first time using a Plus model so I'm not sure if something is screwy here, or that's just how it always worked?
Ok, this new update seems to have fixed the bug of not being able to turn on cellular data for apps that were previously deactivated ( iphone 6), as it was introduced by 9.0.1. Back to business...
Hopefully this update won't break something else.

Not entirely correct. I had the bug in 9.0 but 9.0.1 fixed it...

Just installed this and can confirm that it does not fix this issue. I spoke with Apple earlier today and they mentioned that they are aware of this issue, though... Hopefully next update we will see something to resolve this.

They needed to fix the lockscreen security bug and the mobile data toggle issue. These were a 'must do ASAP' fix and here it is. Other things will have to wait I guess.

WIFI CALLING - AT&T
I lost this option recently, anyone else out there as well?
It just stopped working a few days ago, shows turned on but if I try to update the emergency address it comes back with the OOPS error message that they ran into a speed bump or something like that

Still working here.

Try to do a forced test; turn on airplane mode, then manually turn on WiFi and see if "AT&T WiFi" appears.

Try a different WiFi network too; maybe the one you're on is blocking the IPv6 tunnel used by WiFi calling.

I know the feature is in "beta" and that if you didn't turn it on during the iOS 9 beta period, it won't work until it goes live for everyone soon. But if you turned it on during the beta period it should work for you.

Yeah, the Wallet zoom issue is annoying, but I've just been using Apple Pay from the lock screen by double-clicking the home button. The functionality is still there, it's just an aesthetic issue.

In the article it mentions performance improvements, but in Apple's release notes it lists it as "improvements". Where does Apple state this release includes "performance improvements", am I missing it?
That is an interesting observation. Usually there's a bit more in many updates than what's actually listed, but it's unclear where the conclusion that some actual performance improvements being included in this particular update comes from.

All i care about is the ability to remove the Left swipe spotlight search pane. I was so happy when they removed it. My horror still haunts me. Why do we need two methods to search? I hate siri suggestions.

Dear Lord, this.

I HATE that stupid screen. All 9 has given me so far, as an end user, is annoying freezes and that stupid search screen. Let me turn it off Apple!

I'm sure you forgot your sarcasm tag! ;) But, if you did not, then, you do realize that newer OS means more stuff going on and that older hardware cannot run them as fast as the newer hardware, right? If Apple were to keep releasing OS that ran as fast on the older hardware then we might as well just stick to the first version of iOS.

Think of it this way. Say there are three versions of a car out there: 200HP, 300HP, and 400HP. No matter how you tweak the ECU, a 200HP car won't perform the same as 400HP even if the ECU is running the same software.
Bad comparison. Really bad.
The 200HP did not get slower at driving out of the highway. If it did because of an ECU update, then screw that software upgrade.
It is far more understandable in computers to expect a slow down, but if 2 years ago my phone could open the camera in a second and now it takes 3, and it has nothing new in the camera app, it is a big problem.

I still had the celullar data bug while on 9.0.1 . 9.0.2 fixed it for me.

Just saying that it existed in 9.0 for some folk and although it might just have been doing a restore that fixed it, the bug wasn't there for me in 9.0.1

Weird...I had screen rotation problems with my Air 2 during the betas. Was gone in 9.0, but some people reported it was still present for them. Well, now it's back for me as well

I like these persistent updates.

However, until I actually get to see how 9.0.2 performs, I'll be staying on 8.4.1. I'm loving it waaaaay too much.

Already restored three times from the iOS 9 betas and once from 9.0 for terrible performance.

Is it me or does anyone else feel that Apple's software especially ios quality has really gone downhill since Scott Forstall left???

Way more bugs, late deployments etc.

It's not just you, but there seems to be a huge group of users that conviently forgets that X.0 software releases almost always have issues and bugs.

Well lets see ... When Scott was in charge .... big features were "Cut and Paste" .... a crapy multitasking .... Apple Maps launch fiasco .... notification center with so much limitations .... in your face alerts .... the list goes on
Apple iOS was so way behind Android features .. it was pathetic

Fast forward since Scott is no longer in charge and Apple added HUGE features to finally close the gap on Android and a complete OS makeover ... adding more features per release is sure to add more bugs then the Scott A.K.A "minor updates per release" boss.

FINALLY the system clock is synchronized correctly.

It was off by a considerable amount before. Back to within 1/50th of a second like in iOS 8. image.png
