Just installed. My biggest want has unfortunately now been unequivocally confirmed as MIA. Calendar search is still stunted. You cannot see what you did last year on September 15th. If this is something they are pushing as a tool for work it’s extremely amateur.
Yes Mr. Customer. But this time last year when you took out the contract it was………..Oh.

Ok, so it still switches on the damned Bluetooth too!!.

iCal is for consumers, not enterprises.

Um, I disagree. If they launch it at midnight, then only the hardcore will try to update immediately. Then, as people in each timezone wake up and start moving around, they will try to update, so it would be a gradual increase in traffic. As it is now, all of N America is sitting there waiting for 10 PST to come around and start hitting the update buttons at once.

it is 1am here in Singapore. so yeah hardcore people will still try to update immediately.

but general consumers that hasn't heard of the news will not try to update. they only update when it get prompted.

"Software update failed" - over and over again. Finally started download - 24 minutes to complete. I set the phone down only to return and find that it had gone to sleep. Opened it up and have to request the download again! Now stuck in trying/software update failed mode again.

Sharing so that those trying to update will know not to let their phone go to sleep during the download process or you will be bumped out of the queue and have to start over.

P.S. You can set auto lock to "never" to workaround this issue until the update completes.

Epic first post. iOS 6 is like grandpa reminiscing about how he'd walk 6 miles each way to school, in the snow, over glass shards, up hill both ways, and how it was so much better. You kids these days don't know what a REAL iOS is, with your fancy colors, flat UI, and split screen multitasking. Skeuomorphism too. Was that corinthian leather they used in iOS6?

If you continue to get failures try holding the home and power button for 10 seconds to force your iPhone/iPad to reboot, then try the update again.

I always make it think I'm on Apple's own network so I get routed to their internal update server which is never congested.

Use to go to Apple HQ to download big things years ago when we didn't have fast connections at home. Being on their own network makes it a breeze.

How do you do that?

Yep, I'm seeing that as well. Don't let the phone go to sleep.

It's a proble with the update servers being overloaded, not the iDevice itself. How will restarting help?

I don't get it, i live in a spanish-talking country, and when updated to iOS 9 the "For you" tab should say "Para ti" (spanish translation)... but it keeps the english phrase -.-" ... it seems apple really forgot to polish the translation of this update :(

I had the exact same issue

I recommend against this method of rebooting. It's the equivalent of pulling the power cord out of the back of your computer.

Instead hold the power button down for a few seconds and slide to turn off. Then turn your phone back on.

Can someone explain why my 16GB iphone says it only has 11.9GB of capacity when the ios9 update is only supposed to be about 1GB? Where are my 3GB??

It is finally downloading on the device itself for me (6 Plus), but it says 2 hours, I'm on a 300 megabit connection, so definitely not that. And while I was writing this it jumped down to 1 hour, though still damn slow. I can usually download from companies like Apple at at least 10 megs/sec.

Also downloading from iTunes (see which one finishes first), and its at 170 MB (I assume out of 1.2 gigs).

im 99.9% ik maybe not 99% but it sure seems like it sure my screen does not get as bright as it used to on my iPhone 6 even when its turned all the way up WTF

I don't know about that with the whole Maps disaster.
well nowadays they do not even demo iWork, iMovies or iOS in the apple event. apple is a software company in heart then hardware company.

In case you weren't being sarcastic, you need to be reminded of the reason why he was fired ;)

Hint: Maps disaster.
one failure does not matter - he was more fired because he did not apologize :)

Does anyone else's error look like this?
