AT least OTA worked this time on my 11 Pro now, had to use iTunes for 13.1 updating iPad pro now (to many Pro's)

But why didn’t they wait for two weeks and release the ready product before annoying anybody?
Because iPhone 11/ 11 Pro needed to be released, with 13.0. If they did that but did not make 13.0 available, then I imagine Apple would be accused of trying to get people to buy new iPhones to get these new features in iOS 13 (a silly argument yes, but that's how some people roll).

Anyone else notice while in car (not connected to Carplay), there is an icon that appears on screen near the volume buttons its oval-ish in nature but at bottom has bluetooth icon? See it when switching or opening/closing an app. Anyone know what that is for?

Couldn’t they limit IOS13 to the new devices only and release this to the rest of us when it’s ready?

that’s basically an admission that the software is faulty. That’s some bad PR and they would never do that.

Installed the update on my 11 Pro Max, but iPad OS 13.1.1 has not yet shown up for my iPad Pro. Do I have to delete the public beta profile first before seeing the update?

This is becoming embarrassing tell my folks , hey another update and another and another in the same week. Takes ages to update for them. Sloppy release as expected. It wasn't ready for release but they rushed it for the iPhone release.

Or you know, tell your parents to leave automatic updates on and that's it. I never had to tell anyone in my family to update, they're almost always up to update.

iPadOS 13.0 didn't come out, iPadOS 13.1 was the first release. They found a security issue, so they needed to ship 13.1.1 to everyone. WTH is the problem? You want Apple to wait on a security update?

People aren't being annoyed as much as you are right now. You can just leave the automatic updates on and Apple will update your devices overnight while you sleep.

This whole “beta testing” process leaves a lot to be desired....
Definitely shouldn’t be major bugs and 3 releases in a 14 day time period

There is no company on this planet that has perfect/smooth beta > general release.

Microsoft still hasn't been able to push 1903 update to everyone due to several blockers and still dealing with update issues. They have massive "machine learning" AI trying to perfect their system and it still fails.

They did limit iPadOS release but iOS 13.0 had to be released for other reasons like backup and such for when you transfer to a new phone.

It will be interesting to see if there is a noticeable change with either of my Pro's (iPhone 11 Pro Max or iPad Pro 12.9). Not that battery life on either was really hurting.

I was traveling for the past week and the one day I paid attention to battery life I was off the charger at 4:15am and working (email and phone) during the day (with two hours of flight time where I wasn't on any calls, but still using the phone). Back on the charger at the hotel at 9:45pm, so 17 or so hours of use (8 hours and 17 minutes of screen time) and I was at 53%. I probably could have skipped charging it over night, knowing the next day was going to be shorter.

Yes, delete the beta profile and it should get your iPad onto the standard iPadOS. I did that with my iPP 12.9, just to see how the regular software performs. Same with my iP Pro Max.

It doesn’t address these bugs:

- old devices are kept listed under devices in Screen Time even though they’ve long been deleted from iCloud

- in the Health app paired Apple Watches are duplicated and a “This Watch is no longer paired with this iPhone” message appears associated to the Watch that is actually collecting health data

That said Apple’s software engineers can bugger off!

I was midway through an update to iPadOS 13.1

It was on 'preparing update' - having completed the download - but prior to the update beginning, an error message was shown "Update failed - there was an error downloading this update".

I guess Apple posted the 13.1.1 update to their sw update servers shortly after I started the download, and there's some kind of checking mechanism to make sure the downloaded update is still the most current version?

iPhone X getting error OTA saying unable to check for updates? Anyone else’s getting this error message OTA.

So the lesson to learn is: don’t be so impatient to install a new major IOS version when it’s released and wait at least a month to upgrade if you don’t want this hassle....

Try rebooting your phone, or using a different network if you can , or use iTunes if all else fails.
