Odd, when I take an iPad screenshot and then try to open it into Photoshop, PS reads "Not a .PNG file." Even thought it is a .png file. Strange, not sure if its because my one Mac is on Sierra OS??

Rearranging icons, I guess this is nothing new. Its a hold down, then a prompt to "Rearrange" - press that...then you can move. But I am having some issues with dragging/moving icons around (The FIOS TV icon didn't really want to move). Doesn't feel as responsive doing this.

Just tiny things, still not a deal breaker as I'm messing around.

It's showing like 12 hrs to download, then it goes to 15 hrs and now it says 1 day.... my connection is fast but for some reason it is dragging like crazy...

EDIT: Now it seems like it got stuck and it is just showing "Estimating time remaining..."
Not sure what is going on... maybe server too busy?

The one with the "cheap" processor now......

i have it too.
I think I will upgrade when the new one gets released. Look forward to the new model when it gets released. For the time being this can do pretty much what I need done. Only bad parts is lightning port transfer speeds

Thanks but that's not quite correct. I just got it installed, and it's 17A5844, which is as someone else just mentioned is the same as 13.1 beta 4 (17A5844a).

Nope. I'm wrong. It's 17A844.

I'm getting massively slow and jittery animation. All through the OS.
I just installed it on an iPad Air 2. Seems OK to me. Not exactly super fast, but similar to iOS 12.

EDIT:

So I have two iPad Air 2s here side by side, one running 13.1 and one running 12.4.1.

On the main screen they feel about the same for swiping smoothness. Nowhere near as nice as my iPad Pro 10.5, but the two Air 2s feel similar. The main difference on the main screen is that the icons are smaller on iPadOS 13.1, and there is the added Today View info on the home screen.

In Safari, it's quite a difference, because I get full desktop views now on 13.1 and not 12.4.1, and that's great.

So far, I wholeheartedly recommend upgrading to 13.1.

I didn’t install beta versions before and mine is 17A844 as well.

Beats me, that's what shows up on mine. Is it different since I never had beta on this?

As great an update as iPadOS is, there’s still a lot missing that I really wanted in terms of functionality.

A list:
  • Default apps (it is really needed if one wants to run for example Firefox or Chrome instead of Safari, right now it one has to hop back and forth and copy links)
  • Edit and erase remembered Wi-Fi networks (currently this only works on macOS and then it syncs back to your other devices)
  • Be able to use columns when saving in the save files box (for example when choosing a location to save a Word document, currently it collapses folders in a scrollable list which is less productive)
  • Ability to forward/rewind videos from search in Photos.app (it isn’t possible directly from search which is just mind-boggling)
  • Double-tap for forward/backward in native video player (don’t actually know if this is added)
  • Indication as to which Split View app is currently active (there isn’t any as far as I can see)
  • Tabs for all apps (just like macOS)
  • Multiple windows side-by-side for apps, so for example Pages can show two documents simultaneously (some apps can do this but not all first-party even, this was PROMISED for iOS 13 and still not possible at release, I guess it will become better as apps are updated but still Pages doesn’t work neither does Settings.app.)
  • Mouse support (I know this is added but it is an accessibility feature with a ridiculous pointer and not exactly what we asked for)
  • All apps for iPad need to support Side-by-side and video apps PiP (force developers)
  • Keyboard shortcuts that tie in to the system, like play/pause spacebar and cmd-f is find and search. Keyboard shortcuts greatly expanded (some of this is added but not nearly enough)
  • Ability to hide homebar
  • Xcode for iOS (developers need to be able to write code on iPad)
  • A disk utility function on iPad to format external disks in APFS, macOS extended, exFAT
  • Siri should stop hijacking the entire screen (especially on iPad)
  • Lose the giant pop-ups for “Added to playlist” in the Music app
  • Search for emojis in built-in keyboard

These are the most important ones for me right now.

Has anyone got an issue after updating iPad os when dragging down the display centre you can’t rid of it unless you press the home button? iPad Air 2. Where before you tap any where it will disappear

How is it in the iPad Pro 10.5? I was on the betas a beta or two ago and it was so buggy and unreliable I had to switch back to iOS 12. Unsure if I should upgrade now or wait till more versions are released.

+1 For default apps come on Apple it can't be that hard

Thanks for the smaller icons size...my 44 years old eyes say: THANK YOU APPLE...now more blind....sigh.

I agree I was shocked to see I can’t do by side by side in iWork apps. Really? Lol

good list of suggestions though.

Can you share specifics? Many of us use the iPad for school/work, so can’t afford to have bugs break our workflow, so any insights and guidance you have would be most welcome.

Thanks.

I‘ve had various glitches around multitasking and orientation (objects ‘sticking’ and rotation not working etc.)

However, a restart seems to have settled things down.

Does anyone know when Apple is going to update their own apps to actually support multi window? So far no word on Pages or Numbers getting updated and normally they come out when new iOS versions come out. Perhaps we’ll see them in a few days?

Apple seems to be struggling with this year‘s updates. We still don’t even know when Catalina comes out. HomePod update? Who knows?

I wonder how many people updated their Reminders app only to find out that now their reminders won’t re-appear on their Mac until Catalina comes out (which has no release date).
