Can you still option+click to update IPCC in the new build of iTunes?

EDIT: From what I've been hearing... the OPTION+CLICK/SHIFT+CLICK has been patched in iTunes. If you want to keep your Cellular Data Network panel and whatever else a 5.0 IPCC file enables... MAKE SURE TO have the 5.0 IPCC already on your iPhone before you install this. Otherwise, I don't think you'll be able to update it from 3.5.

Apple Releases iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 and New iTunes 8.2 Pre-Release to Developers

Apple tonight seeded the fifth beta version of iPhone OS 3.0 (Build 7A312g) and a new version of the iTunes 8.2 pre-release to developers. As with the previous beta, iTunes 8.2 is required to install the latest iPhone 3.0 beta software. No new features in the fifth beta version have been revealed at this early time.

Today's release is a bit of a surprise, coming just eight days after the release of the fourth beta when Apple had consistently been releasing beta versions to developers at two-week intervals. With only a month to go until Apple's sold out Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco where the iPhone OS 3.0 is certain to be a featured topic of discussion, Apple may be increasing the pace of developer releases to begin polishing things for the public showing.

StoreKit Support

There seems to be several references to the StoreKit in the API diffs section.

Excellent. I navigated to download the Beta 4 of the SDK and sure enough everything was on Beta 5 :)

Must've happened moments before I logged-in.

Can not update carrier file

Seems that they might have blocked the ability to update the carrier file. I can not select it .

Can you downgrade to the previous iTunes beta? It is the new iTunes, not the new iPhone software the disallows the carrier file changing.

Got It Up And Running, And Really Don't See Any Changes, Other Than, It Does Seem a Little Zippier........

Matt

I Did Not Download The New iTune Release, And It Worked Fine!

Here's to hoping that the uptick in developer seeds means a public 3.0 release at the WWDC. For some reason I have a gut feeling that the new iPhone won't come until closer to autumn.

On the other hand, don't rush it Apple. I was one of the unlucky ones with 2.0 who had their apps and media disappearing. Then the Apple logo of death (ALOD). It was definitely a bad time and kinda stressed me out because my phone wasn't working. It's been magical since then, but that was a pain to go through. It was worth it though!

Beta 5 isn't an update...

It is Apple locking down the current software holes in the phone.

A ** cough** friend of mine **cough** told me that the Readme file mentioned this:

Known Issues
• A small set of AT&T customers may experience data services that stop working
after installing iPhone OS 3.0 beta 5 on a device. If you experience this problem
with a device that worked properly before the beta 5 update, please call the
developer support line at 1-800-xxx-xxxx for help restoring data services.

Does anyone have the first iTunes 8.2 Beta install file still?

If you can revert to that I think you may still be able to change the carrier file??
