Just extract the IPSW from the DMG, restore to it with iTunes, and you're done.

when you download the DMG file off dev site you mount the dmg by double clicking on your mac desktop and then drag and drop the ipsw to desktopthanks for the replies guys!

Nope, it's been there since Beta 1 - it didn't work though, I tried to add some epubs to Stanza through the sharing window and the whole thing would freeze up.
Haven't tried it in Beta 2 though so they may have fixed it.

Yes, you will (if last year's beta was any indication) ... That said, I always plan on losing all my beta OS data and having to set up as a new phone, just in case.
I was beginning to think I was the ONLY one who caught that. Looks to me as if they're planning on having that functionality work for multiple music apps. And to anyone knocking it and saying it's not or not related to multitasking... please explain to me how the ability to change a song from your iPod (or Pandora if the above will be the case) when you're in another app isn't multitasking.

I'm hearing that beta 3 was pulled because of "overheating" issues when restoring. I didn't experience this...

The Beta 3 files are again available for download. Someone's working late in Cupertino! Anyway, happy downloading...
This was some false rumor one person posted without any proof or reason as to why he said that.
The actual reason was that the Beta 3 Xcode installer was incapable of honoring custom install locations, so even if you said to write to /Developer-Beta/ it would write to /Developer/ and for a lot of people, that overwrote and broke their 3.1.3 or 3.2 SDK's for publishing updates to their Apps that are currently live in the store.
Apple pulled it, fixed the installer issue, and has re-released it with no change in version numbers but even if you downloaded and installed it before it was pulled, I would still do Xcode install and re-restore the phone, just to be on the safe side.
