It has to do with the actual SDK:

We are currently investigating this issue — it appears that the Beta 3 installer is not honoring custom install locations. You will likely need to reinstall the most recent GM of Xcode back into /Developer as a result, since your current /Developer now contains the iPhone SDK bits from beta 3.

No biggy.

Interesting...hmmm...

Well, my download of the SDK 3 is still chugging along. Guess I'll let it keep going.

Just read the posts above. Guess I'll cancel my SDK 3 download till it's back up again!

I'm wondering if the iPod icon in the music player control/orientation lock section will change based on which app is playing music, i.e. if Pandora is playing in the background, its app icon will replace the iPod icon, but the iPod will be the default if nothing is using the background audio stuff.

Is this new?

Maybe I'm missing something . . .

If you want to make sure your apps work with the new OS version . . .

You guys are blowing this out of proportion. It all started because someone said it was a beta tester's "responsibility to find and report bugs." Sure, if I'm doing development and I come across a bug then I'll report it to Apple. I want them to fix it so it doesn't affect my app. But as a beta tester It is not my responsibility to find bugs and I don't actively search for them. I do not beta test for Apple. I beta test for my company.

Again, I'm going to reports bugs, especially if they will or can affect my app. But finding bugs are not my primary purpose nor my responsibility.

If you install the Xcode beta (at least beta 2) after each iTunes update, iTunes should back up your device properly. It works fine for my beta 3 phone (and did as well when it was beta 2.) Beta 1, not so much.

Install the Beta iPhone SDK.

They pulled it before I could download it. I hope this will not be long, I am really sick of beta 2...
