Well...it wasn't what I expected. No sling media. No app store till June. Yea, they should of just waited until wwdc.
Except that Steve-o boxed Apple in at MWSF by saying "February" for the SDK, so they were compelled to say something.

June's not so far down the road... Based on the software release, I'm going to guess that both iPhone firmware ver. 2.0 and iPhone 2 itself will be out in June, though I wonder if there will be a 1.1.x update to add Exchange Server support before this...

Like everyone else here, I was truly hoping for something today. But just think of what developers can create in a few months..An actual time machine so I dont have to wait for any more rumors to become reality!

@people complaining about iPhone being 2.0 in June instead of today.

This gives developers a good three months to produce real quality applications. There are no real products ready to go today except for the few shown today. In the following months there will be hundreds of applications available. It's going to be pretty ace.

"Customers will get it in June as a free software update to iPhone users."

There's a better chance of Apple rolling out Newton 2.0 than meeting that deadline.

Oh man I posted too soon, you have to pay $99 to get the SDK???? WTF? Argh! NOT cool, Apple. Devs who are developing free apps, at least, should not have to pay.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Found this interesting

Q: What will happen if someone does a VOIP app?
(SJ): We will only stop VOIP over cell networks, but not WiFi.

:D

Q: "How likely will there be a VoIP?"

A: "We will only limit over cellular -- if you want to dev them for WiFi, that's fine."

From the Q&A.

Hellooooooo Skype.

edit: Darnit, skiesforme.

AIM on iPhone??? Yessss. What will today's update bring to the users? I connected my iphone to itunes and it automatically downloaded and installed a new update, took a long time too, must be a lot of things in it. I played with it and found nothing new.

Yeah that sounds like the 1.1.4 update from last week or the week before. Nothing really new.
