I got the same thing. WTF? Did you do a complete "restore from backup" or did you just restore iPhoto and / or its accompanying folders?

Fixed it! In the Database file open DataModelVersion.plist and tick the box and your done! my library opens fine now.

Thanks DillWaters

Yes

you buy a mac book air JUST to get the new 15$ iphoto? i'm sure apple wished that there are a lot more people around who act like you. I guess you also buy a cow if you want milk, eh?

Yes, many people did it this way. They like an app so much that they buy the computer!

iPhone is a major application in our house, and we have quite a few Macs. Are you sure you can get iPhone for $15 now? You still need to get it via iLife, and it is not cheap if I have to get for a few computers just for iPhoto. So this will be a good incentives for us to get an Air as a Xmas present.

Woopdedo. Unless you have a really shrimpy monitor, I don't see that as an issue. It's virtually full screen with the exception of a small bar at the top and bottom. Besides, there are other ways to view them full screen.

what is ok for you, does not necessary be ok for everyone else. i guess you have a large monitor, but imagine you have a mac book and this totally large "edit bar" on the right is there all the way... it is inacceptable that you are FORCED that it is there!

also the bar on the top and on the bottom: it distracts the view! when you choose photos, you have to be able to see the photo only. you need to get a clear impression of the photo, not of the border around with color information of other photos that are stacked in a small bar on the bottom.

it is actually OK that apple supplies you with the functions, and it is ok that they want you to see them as default. but it is not ok that you are FORCED to keep it that way. it is as if you buy a lamp at ikea and you can not switch it off, simply because ikea says: "no on-off switch on the lamp - we like it that way!".

I have a 13" MBP and the bars at the top and bottom don't bother me, intact I prefer it much more than the previous view

Has importing gotten better when ...

Has importing gotten better when you have both video and stills on a camera? My canon crashes the import when I get to the first movie.

Apple today released iPhoto 9.1, an update to the iPhoto application included in the company's new iLife '11 suite. The update restores support for the photo calendars that had gone missing in the initial iPhoto '11 release, and also fixes several other bugs and introduces new holiday-themed letterpress card options. The update is the second to be released for iPhoto '11 since its debut just over two weeks ago, as the company quickly pushed out iPhoto 9.0.1 late last week to address issues with data loss when upgrading from iPhoto '09 to iPhoto '11.

As I read this news on Friday morning (+8:00 GMT), I went to the iLife webpage to check if the print product price is listed. As expected, no price was mention within the page itself. However, if you look at the slide images for the USA and Japan website, you can see the updated slide image.

While other countries that I’ve checked still used the old slide image without the calendar.

It is interesting to note that the calendar info was added at the bottom of the page for most of the countries like Australia, UK. However, pages from countries like Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong did not add the calendar information.

Hopefully, Apple will update the info for these countries with the price list within the page itself.
