I am not sure ... don't have my home Mac in front of me. But it's not that big a deal to switch between backing up to iTunes or iCloud. It's on the device summary screen in iTunes. Just a little selection box that says "Backup to iTunes" and another that says "Backup to iCloud". It's just a click to switch.

With iCloud backups enabled, wifi and wired syncs to the computer don't create a backup on the machine, but they can be created by right clicking the iDevice and backing it up that way. My workflow will probably be weekly manual, local backups to supplement the daily iCloud backups.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

Did you guys read the iTunes Terms & Conditions when updating your iTunes? (South Park reference lol).

Ok, I got questions regarding iTunes 10.5. Do I need to have Lion install to use to use iTunes 10.5 on my MBP?

If not, will all the new features of iCloud and iOS 5 work running on the latest version of SL? I think I'm running 10.6.8

doesn't apply to me but...

were still expecting a 10.6.9 right?

It better, as i simply cannot upgrade to Lion yet due to compatibility with important plugins i use daily for work....!!!

PS I'm in the UK, and am currently running 10.6.8 and have downloaded iTunes 10.5 without a hitch....

iCloud isn't supported on SL, it will require 10.7.2. An update to 10.6.9 is rumored, but nothing official from Apple either way yet.

You know that you need iOS 5 + iTunes 10.5 for wireless sync, and will need your USB cable for installation of iOS 5, right?[/QUOTE]

Yes. but if he has a previous iPhone and loads iOS 5 tomorrow then on friday he can do wireless backup/sync to iPhone 4s because 4s come pre-loaded with iOS 5

So I need iOS5 AND iTunes 10.5 for this...

cause pluggin in my phone now with only iTunes update and I don't see the option in iTunes under my device?

Absolutely not true - Your device will sync automatically when plugged in, but you can kick off a wireless sync any time you want by manually pressing the "Sync Now" button

I agree. I actually restored all my apps and data after upgrading to the GM over WiFi, placed it on my nightstand and went to bed. When I woke up it was ready.

And I can sync over WiFi or to iCloud at any time manually.

It will automatically sync to iTunes when plugged to a power source, unless you chose iCloud sync, then it will auto sync to iCloud instead of to iTunes.

iTunes 10.5

I downloaded iTunes 5.0 and then downloaded a song on my iPhone from iTunes.....it automatically synched to my MBP smooth as butter. :)
YAY!!!

Does this support the resume feature in LION? For example if I finished listening to a specific track. If I restart my mac, then would it continue to play (or at least list) the same track?

Thanks.

I always feel a twinge of excitement in my gut when I see there's cool updates to be had! Wireless syncing is kind of a nice new feature since The White Cord and I don't seem to get along too well
