Is it true that you can still use your iPhone even during a sync (wired or wifi) with iTunes? So answering a call while syncing doesn't kill your sync?

I think I have discovered a flaw. It does this on my home MacBook Pro and my work Windows 7 machine.
Let's say I want to play some Nine Inch Nails. I keep my Column Browser always on top. So I click in the Artist column and hit the 'N' key. This brings me to the first artist that begins with 'N'. Then I use my trackpad or mouse wheel to scroll on down to 'Ni..." but with this release it jumps back to the very top of the list.

Shock, horror....

This could and auto sync to all devices BS is gonna cause massive problems fro alot of people.. i will turn it off as soon as i get it:eek: i dont want alll my data constantly moving around at all ..

there will be law suits from folks who didnt know that all their songs and photos were gona be moved to their ipad and phone using up $5000 worth of data overages

Doesn't it sync only over Wi-Fi?

A.

Looks like it is starting to become a common issue. I have been on spinning ball for 10+ minutes with no change. Can we start a support thread somewhere?

Edit: Just want to check is everybody else having normal itunes functionality until they plug in the phone?

Ok at roughly the 20minute mark (i started making a note of time after about 5 minutes and then saw another 15 go by) the device suddenly connected. I tried a disconnect and reconnect and it worked but stuttered for about 15seconds with the ball.

Will Apple update iPhoto 09 to support Photo Stream or will they make us buy the new one?

Developers have a 9.2 version of iPhoto so my assumption is an update will be released for the general public too.

iPhoto 09 and iPhoto 9.0 (iPhone '11) are 2 different things. The original poster was asking about '09, not version 9, and I highly doubt Apple is going to add Photo Stream support to a 3 year old program. I'd bet that you'll need to upgrade to iPhoto '11.

Also, to clear up some other confusion, I believe all iCloud features that have to do with iTunes content (Music, Apps, TV, iBooks) are contained within iTunes 10.5 on any platform it supports. This includes 10.5-10.7, so there is no need for 10.6.9 to get features like WiFi syncing and iTunes Match.

The rest of iCloud that manages OS level functions (document syncing, Back to my Mac, etc) may require Lion as no 10.6.9 version supporting this has been annouced.

This is happening to me as well on an iMac and Macbook. Looks like a real bug. It jumps back to the previous scroll list location though, not necessarily the top. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the artists list, click on an artist, then hit N to take you to the first N artist, scrolling with a trackpad at all will bounce you back to the previous location at the bottom of the list.

To my knowledge, it is only available in the US for the moment. I may be wrong but that's what I'm led to believe.

I thought that was just iTunes "match". I thought this was different to being able to d/load previous iTunes purchases (music)??

I'm excited about iOS 5 and the potential that iCloud offers, but given the past fiascos with major iTunes revisions I'm gonna certainly watch and wait before updating ...

Just update for goodness sake. I always update everything right away to the latest versions and NEVER had any issues to speak of. Remember when everyone said not to update to 10.7 because you need to wait until at least 10.7.1? Was there ANY real problem with 10.7? NO! A few people had minor issues, requiring reboots here and there, that's it. We're not talking about an experimental new midication here, just a software update! :p

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_10 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E600 Safari/6533.18.5)

Is iTunes Match music only?

I've never had a problem with the iTunes interface. I don't think many people do.
When it was just music it was fine for what it did. Now that they are making it the entertainment iPhone hub it needs to be overhauled. All Apple did was just throw features on top of the original not rebuild the program from the ground up. The program itself is very outdated.

It doesn't have this issue on my MacBook (4,1, 10.7.1) - everything is working fine.

Nice I just noticed I can multitask with my Magic Mouse through the iTunes store going back to whatever page I was before it was not doing that for me.

no same deal i'm afraid. i cant access previously purchased music on my german account but it works just fine on my us account. such a pity

Are there any visual differences?

I just upgraded and I must say that I don't see anything new... I know that the sync feature won't be available until I upgrade my iphone4 tomorrow, but I don't see any new settings or anything new in the UI.

Are there any changes aesthetically at all or am I not seeing them?

nope nothing really new, the wifi sync settings etc all show up when u plug in your iPhone on iOS5 and u still need to wait for Lion 10..7.2 to take advantage of the iCloud features too

Yes. It sucks, as does 10.7.1!

how exactly does it "suck" i think Lion is great. people need to learn to adjust to some simple changes, its not even that big of a "update"

Has anyone figured out how to keep different views for music, podcasts etc. ? It used to display my podcasts in album view, music in list with album pics on the left side. Now, whenever I change a view in one, it changes it for all the library items.

I'm having the same issue, and would love if someone could help us out on how to fix this.

Sync over wi-fi is not appearing on my iPad summary

Do i need to have iOS 5 installed on the iPad? Currently running iTunes 10.5 and 4.3.5 for iPad.

Never mind, post above answers my question.
