List of changes I've noticed so far:

Smaller, slightly recolored window controls ("traffic lights")
Monochrome sidebar icons (looks much cleaner IMO)
Recolored scroll bars (lighter than iTunes 9)
New artwork for column headers
New artwork for volume slider
New "frameless" buttons on bottom bar
New checkbox artwork
Redesigned preferences artwork
Album art popout
New "full window" iTunes store option (I think this is new?)
Adjusted spacing and/or font in list view

No ringtone column available under music any more either as far as I can tell...

And 64 bit or not , if it would only use more then 1 core i would be happy already, then i would see alot less beachballing for sure.

iTunes has been multi-threaded for years. What makes you think it is not?

Not much need to make it 64 bits. Even with my larger sized library iTubes only uses 220 MB, not quite close to the 4GB limit

Ping isn't that interesting for me at the moment as my favorite artists are still not available.
Let's see how Ping will be accepted from the community. I mean, who needs another social network? Wouldn't it be nice if it were only one social network?

I agree with you, just playing with it for the moment but i'm not sure what use i am going to get from it.

Finding People to Follow

Ping makes it easy to find and follow your favorite artists and friends. In iTunes on your Mac or PC, select Ping and click Featured Artists or Featured People to find new or noteworthy Ping members. If you know someone already on Ping, you can search for them by name from the Ping home page. You can even check to see which of your Facebook friends also use Ping by connecting Ping to Facebook when editing your profile.

Where do I connect to Facebook? This thing will only be useful if I can either upload and search for peoplg from my contacts in the OS, or via Facebook.

It's really a marketing network but who cares?

About time someone got real about these marketing networks and just attached one to a product like iTunes. Facebook is a joke as a true social network. I built my own social network to meet my future wife. That's the difference between the true geeks and the wannabees. :apple::cool:

Is it possible to post like a status update type of thing...? I see artists doing it, but how do we?

So far I'm not too sure if I'm liking this. We're very limited, in my opinion.

Question to those who turned on Ping: Is it possible to turn it off again? (Delete Ping profile etc.)

If you follow and then turn off ping in account and then enable it again it doesn't show the activity who you following and it shows follow instead of unfollow and if you click follow it saids you already following them and if you go to people it shows following (3) in title menu and it doesn't have a unfollow button so you can unfollow them do a re follow to see the status of people in recent activity

Interesting name

Interesting that they call something Ping...
I hope they can live happily alongside http://www.pingping.be/ for example...although of course "Ping" and "ping ping" are completely different names...
