So what is iTunes 12 like? Any big changes? ;)

Yes, big ones. In fact they've gone and completely redesigned iTunes 11! While taking away useful features and introducing new bugs*. Again.

* still on iTunes 10.7 and laughing how I never had the "store sign-in bug" that's the only reason for the existence of this article, apparently.

Delighted

I'm delighted with this update.
Having to log in to the ITunes store repeatedly every time i wanted to buy an album or film was nearly as tedious as reading the endless negative smart ass comments on here every day.

use a different browser

Same here. 11.0.3 is the latest version

I tried it on chrome and the same thing happened. I opened the link in Internet explorer and i got the new version. Try opening it another browser. prob some cache problem.

Don't suppose missing album artwork on iDevices is fixed?

EDIT That'll be a no!

It has a rather neat 'Moods' view where it can play music based on how you're feeling, for example 'tense but optimistic'. It actually analyses the musical structure of the song, and uses crowd-sourced data to match it to other songs. It was revolutionary.

The visualizer still uses an ass-ton of CPU. But guess what, they 'fixed' that feature in iTunes 13 by removing it entirely. Oh Apple, when will you learn?

still no cover flow

I really really want to up grade NO Cover flow, no Up grade. everything was right there while I edit my songs and I like to stay currant, Apple Please!

OMG, I was worried about these sign-in issues. Couldn't sign in (when purchasing somethings) many times. I even thought my account might be hacked...

So you'd rather wait a few months for a very annoying bug to be fixed? And pay for the privilege?

Nah he would rant like now because it's not enough and he could wait 10.9.
Then rant because 10.9 is not free and Apple sucks.

Ranter gonna rant.

Can they fix the search bug as well. And by bug I mean the ****** new search. It was so much better when the search was a list filter.

In the search field, click the little magnifying glass.

Uncheck the option "Search Entire Library".

Now your search is back to the way it used to be and should be. ;)

Playlist Bug

I still get mad every time I want to build a playlist and try to open it in its own window to drag songs to from the library... I cannot comprehend how removing this function was a "feature"! This rant is over.

is the search bug fixed?

In iTunes, click the magnifying and glass and uncheck the update list or whatever it's called. Behaviour should be restored.

(Sorry, I'm not on a computer with iTunes 11 right now so I don't remember what the button was called).

Hope this helps.

Anyone notice that the iPhone (set for wifi sync) does not show up in iTunes since 11.0.3? Have to stop and start the Apple Mobile Device service in Windows 8. Then it appears. Even a Windows reboot does not seem to help. All started with 11.0.3. Never had an issue before. Hoping 11.0.4 sync issue bug fix would solve it but does not seem to have. Had to do same process after update and reboot of Windows.

That's such an important thing to do, because the new search is so incredibly annoying and cumbering.

addresses an ongoing issue that caused some users to have to log in to the iTunes store multiple times.

I've had this problem every time I buy something since the last update. Glad they fixed it as it was really annoying.

While welcome these fixes don't even begin to fix the main problems I have with iTunes 11:

1. The forward and back buttons simply don't work properly making navigating through the iTunes Store a real chore.

2. Search doesn't work at all most of the time making it tediously long winded to find anything, even if you know what you're looking for.

3. The iTunes Store is just so slow and unresponsive most of the time.

I've reported these issues to Apple numerous times but nothing ever seems to change.

I've used the iTunes Store for years but quite frankly if there was a viable alternative available today I would drop iTunes in a heartbeat it's so bad and frustrating to use.

Please Apple fix what's already there before adding new stuff.
