has anyone found a way to group albums in album view, or choose ascending or descending?

i like to view by year, but want 2012 to show up first, not the 60s and have to scroll all the way to present to see the new stuff i listen to

also, is the vertical column view gone? completely? i never use the triple view version, waste of space

not for me? theres only the option "sort by"

edit: u can only change it for "artist" view etc but not "album view"

and u cant change the size of tv show and movies covers at all, such a pity

I'm wondering why you can't resize using pinch-zoom which seems to be a standard gesture. Mind you, it doesn't work in icon view in Finder either.

More work needed on consistency in the UI - maybe the recent management changes at Apple will address this?

Wow. On my MB Pro this thing really screams. I didn't think I would like the new layout bit it makes so much more sense and is really easy to navigate. It also found my two iOS devices right away. So far, so good!

not only that, but the RAM useage is good too, only like 180mb on load with album art displaying. It's like 150mb if you just do song view with no album art showing.

All the 'bloat' people can shut up now (not that it was bad before at all)

I have 102,000 songs in my library. iTunes in the Cloud still limits you to 25,000. Amazon Cloud Player has a limit of 250,000 songs.

When will iTunes move to 250,000?

It not depends on Apple. It depends on music labels magnaminity. Hope new round of negotiations when their contract is due Apple convinces them to up the number of songs in iTunes in the Cloud to par with competition.

After playing around with it for an hour, I'm mostly happy with this release. It's much more responsive than iTunes 10 was, but they really need to optimize it more... it's using over 600MB of ram. Streaming functionality works better, it waits for a good buffer before playing a song instead of starting playback too early and then getting cut off. Wish I could make the Album Art a little bigger in Grid view, it's a little small for my taste. Overall it's a step in the right direction, Cloud based media is where it's at and this pushes things in that direction.

The design has joined the rest of the scrollbar-less UI, but the top of the window doesn't match the overall OSX UI.

Overall, not a bad update. It's definitely faster here, but I imagine it's probably just taking more resources. Its a little weird not seeing how many songs/the size of your library, however.

You can return to the original view under the song tab. Also there's no lag or pause between songs when spamming the next song button when shuffling. Appears to not have a 5-limit queue.

Itunes11 takes time to recognize devices!!!!!

ITUNES 11 TAKES TIME TO RECOGNIZE DEVICES!!! already tried with an Ipad Mini iPad 2 generation Iphone 4 Iphone 5 and also with iPod Nano Classic And Touch Retina display!

You can't resize album art in albums view.

iTunes match users can't see 'iCloud status' in any other view than songs.

View > View Options should do it

Yes! Just saw it after I wrote this, I changed my post, but you beat me to it.
I'm liking this iTunes more and more! Very nice stuff.
There's a couple things I would have like differently.

Btw., I had to turn off the "search entire library". It made search sloooow. But the function really isn't needed, as I still my entire library..

Looks very nice, but scrolling and animations do seem a little laggy on my 2012 MBA! Not too bad.

No list view though?

Odd...they're not so on my 2007...that's two thousand seven...MBP. I thought i wouldn't even be able to update to iTunes 11. Let's suffice it to say that i'm pleasantly surprised about both things!

Hmmm

Seems that the layout for the Artists and Genres sections look very much like that of windows media player.

Why can't apple just use the interface from the iOS iPad Remote app for the actual music app. It is just gorgeous and so much more functional than the normal one...
