New look, new look… Meh.

All I know is that they still haven't got rid of the bug that brings up the SBOD when you're adding film artwork and then click 'OK'. it can take minutes to add a single film poster, and if you have a whole television series to do…:mad::mad:

Back arrow always selected

I have hit this bug. Whilst using iTunes, a button always has to be selected, whether it be a song or and arrow etc. Now usually this wouldn't both me but as you can see from this:

It actually prevents the song name and details from being displayed. Is this a problem other people have?

Love the new Album art cover with track lists under album it just looks back cover of a CD casing, very smart move from Apple GREAT JOB. Still trying to see what other interesting new features or hidden ones.

YES! That is one of the things I love about iTunes 11 kind of like the back cover of a CD casing with track listings very nice.

You do realize that windows doesn't have an equivalent for universal binaries, right? Apple had 2 choices: present a default that would work for all windows users, or ask each of them if they were a 32 or 64 bit user. I don't think Apple tech support has the staff to deal with the average windows user who has no idea.
So they can't by default have the 64 bit run on a Mac?

Breaks Smart playlists that use playcount!!!

ITUNES 11 breaks smart playlists based on last played and/or play count info.

iTunes 11 will not update the play count or last played info for a song. So, any smart playlist that is based on last played or play count info will not update itself.

For example, if you have a smart playlist set up for:

Last played is not in the last 30 days
Plays are less than 3
Limit to 25 items
Live update

Then when a song is finished playing it should remove itself from the list thus allowing for another song that matches those criteria to take it's place.

But since the playcount and last played info isn't updating, the song will not be removed from the list after it plays. Thus the same 25 songs stay in the list and play over and over and over again.

UPDATE: Turning off crossfade fixes the issue. So, it IS a bug, but at least there is a workaround of sorts.

Also, in album view, when you click on an album it just gives you the general year for the album and not the years for each specific track. This kind of sucks for compilations where it would be nice to see the year.

For compilations it groups the album by year of the latest song. So if you had an '80s comp that starts in 1980 and the final song was released in 1989, iTunes will list it last instead of first.

Has anyone noticed that "Various Artists" compilations list the name of the Track One artists underneath? It's kind of annoying.

Think its that little box to the right near the maximise button

No no, not the mini-player. When you double-click on title bars for the old iTunes and any other app, you can minimize the application without having to hit the yellow circle. I've been using this feature of OSX for ages, and is a real time saver... why would they take that out of the new iTunes.

I am so glad they got around to doing this, it was needed years ago. I got it downloading now. Cant wait to check it out thoroughly.

I like the feature where you can choose your upcoming songs. Not sure if the previous version had this feature, but this is certainly very welcome.

my bug is

you're playing a track from 'Songs' view, you move about looking at other stuff and want to go back to where you were back in the 'Songs' view – it's so much longer than before. long. long. long! Well, faffy anyway. i'd like one click please.

So they can't by default have the 64 bit run on a Mac?

It is 64-bit on the Mac by default.

On Windows, they are separate installs/executables. Now, Apple could have had a installer that had both in it, and, based on the installed OS, just installed the right version. But that would double the download size of the application...not exactly user friendly.

Ok...I don't like the new screens so I always go to the song list...but now everything is WAY to the left without the artwork/playlist on the left side.

Is there any way to get that back?

Looks like everybody at Apple is testing their software on pre-release versions of OS X for iPads. While they still sell pretty amazing huge screens (like 27 inch in size) new Apps don't really seem to care making any use of the space...

Safari doesn't do that on 10.8.2. Are you sure that it wasn't an old feature that finally got removed?

Happy to see that compatible versions of the iOS Remote app and VideoDrive (tool to add movies and tv shows to iTunes) have been released as well earlier today :D:D:D

Same thing here.

I already had this issue with iTunes 10.7 sometimes. It helped to set focus to the listview then…
