So what do we lose with this update?
Third time i ask this: How to roll back to 10.7? Is time machine enough?
Has anyone tried the "Pick up where you left off. We'll save your place."
Start a movie, TV show, podcast, iTunes U lesson, or audiobook on one device. Pause anytime, and you can pick it up later on another device.
Is this only for purchased movies, tv shows, etc?
So, with album art gone from the sidebar, how do we add album art to multiple tracks at once, or copy/paste album art between songs? (I'm talking about songs where downloading the art from iTunes either gets it wrong or comes up blank.)
I'd argue that it's a step forward for a significant majority of iTunes users, and only a step back for some. While that may not be best for you, it's probably the best overall direction. Most people who want to actively DJ will use a separate program anyway.
Its just a new face for the same program.
Itunes was great, still is....but honestly cant understand the excitment around its new version. Nothing completly different, for a non iOS user, its quite the same it was last time i used it.
Still cant figure if i like more the design like it is right now.
So, as an experiment I tried reverting: it's not as clean cut as just replacing the new version with the one in your backup. I didn't use Time Machine, but a clone, but the principle is the same.

- When you first try replacing it, you'll need to change the iTunes.app permissions or send the new iTunes to the trash, since OS X wont let you replace it as easily.
- You'll also need to bring back the old iTunes libraries too, or it wont open.
- Once replaced, every time I open iTunes it gives me a bunch of weird errors, the most troubling one being not recognizing my iPhone...

I used to have my library configured in two mac so I could manage my iPhone and iPods in both.... I guess that's broken too.
So, there you have it: if you updated and really can't use the new version, hence revert, you're in for some fun if you have an iPhone. My advise: perhaps wait a bit until all major bugs are identified and solved before updating and be aware of the differences before upgrading... but in the long run I guess there's not much of a choice. Listening to the Stones right now, two songs come to mind: Satisfaction and You Can't Always Get What You Want...
I guess I'll go to the new version again just to save me trouble with my phone - not that I care to much since I seldom use iTunes, only to manage my phone and to stream music to my AppleTV.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Solved it: Hit the tab key a few times till the "focus" changes and the info is shown.

Another site poster noted that the radio streams are gone. I use these as much as anything in iTunes.
Can anyone confirm, 'cos I don't have a late model iDevice and I'm not upgrading to lose that feature if it's truly gone???
And if so, I guess gone because less popular than podcasts (I went through 10 pages and no one else mentioned this), but no way to monetize (or monetize sufficiently - I don't know if the streamers ever paid Apple?), so sayonara radio feeds.....???

I think you a bit too worried. When was the last time an update completely hosed a system? Sure, a glitch here and there, but it gets sorted pretty quickly. After all, its iTunes, not mission critical for most of us.
Is that how it is these days?
When Apple implements stuff originally, its like... "oh great..!! i use this long time coming feature all the time (not specific to only iTunes), and then when Apple gets rid of something, like for example Ping... we all just accept it as time as time goes on...?
Wow..... I really need to get out of that MS era.
