The iBooks app? I've certainly added plenty of my own epub's and PDF's to it.

Yes, it lo longer works via iTunes as it used to. I have found you can drag and drop epubs over to the phone/iPad, but you can no longer sort or select via iTunes as you did before, it has to be done on the device. This is a total mess, especially dealing with versions of books as every device has to be updated separately (Some of my books might be updated 3 or 4 times over a semester)

If you want to go back to 12.6.2 You'll need to recover it from a time machine or other backup. then you need to revert yout itunes Library.itl which you might find in your itunes library folder called "Previous iTunes Libraries". The 12.6 version refuses to open the 12.7 itl. file. If you haven't made too many changes to your library in 12.7 you should be able to use 12.6. But once you go back to 12.7 it'll upgrade you again.

I don't mind the new version, EXCEPT you can copy media like tones to the phone, but there seems to be no way to remove it. That's really no bueno.

Someone please tell me I'm wrong and there is.

Wont let me restore iTunes to an earlier version.....

Too bad Apple won't open the iPhone music library to apps. Yes you can read music, but what if you want to download a purchased MP3 from Amazon and place it in your music library? No can do.

I FOUND THE APP STORE IN ITUNES 12.7.0.166

If you visit a web page like:
https://itunes.apple.com/developer/electronic-arts/id284800461?mt=8

1. Click the blue button "View in iTunes" and it launches the developer page in iTunes:

2. Then click on App Store in the top left corner:

This is so cool. Because it is much easier to browse for new apps on the Mac's big screen.

Enjoy folks.

You can, but it becomes messy if you have Apple Music as your source. I still cant successfully manage this, but without Apple Music's streaming as your first music source then adding any mp3 to your phone through iTunes is easy.

Still won't let you buy the app, click on one of them, and a web page opens providing the details with no option to purchase

This time I will stay at iTunes 12.6 forever.
So you're not going to upgrade to macOS HS, I suppose... It is more than likely that iTunes 12.7 will be the default in the new version.

It's a bummer for me as well since I also have and use custom ringtones. Let's see what will be reported here by MR and other sites on this issue until High Sierra launches.

And that's the main reason I won't use Apple Music.

Custom tones working fine as usual here, what are u talking about..
Read again what he is talking about custom ringtones. He can’t delete them.

Why does Apple even bother releasing iTunes for Windows as legacy based software installing hundreds of helper services and apps? Where is the promised iTunes version in Windows App Store?

You weren’t able to back apps on your Mac using the previous version. Backups contained app data only and restores put back a greyed out placeholder with that data. As far as I can tell that’s what this version does too. That happened during some time in the iOS 10 time frame (i can’t be more specific since, lol, plugging a phone and using iTunes) if I remember correctly.
It happened in iOS 9 when they invented app slices. Apple didn't want you to download an app on your computer from your iPhone to find that it won't work on your iPad. So to "fix" this problem they created they eliminated the transfer feature.

I don't get this thread.

To add ringtones and old apps, just find the files and drag them to the phone in iTunes.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201593

If you want to delete a custom ringtone, in phone summary tick "Manually manage music and videos" then go to the ringtones section and simply delete the ones you don't want.

The functions to sync and backup phones are still there.

Of course you had warning. You were running a beta OS. Zero sympathy.
Please read again and read it MUCH MUCH slower this time!

This now affects everyone now that it’s out of beta! I wasn’t responding about it being a beta I was informing at what point they did this (out of 10 betas it happened back on beta 5). That was just a “when the hell did that happen?” reference for those who might be interested WHEN did they yank them?

My point is NOW there is no warning for all of YOU out there I just got the luxury of it happening a month ago without warning. Now you’ll all lose yours too as part of the “64bit only” iTunes/iOS “planned obsolescence” by Apple.

You might ask for your money back on that speed reading class you took. <LOL>
