I'm back on iTunes 6 as well, but here's a question for the 7-up(date) users:

In the album art view (not coverflow), resize the album art column (and consequently the artwork itself). Switch to another view, then switch back to the album art view. Did the resize stick?

That one bugged the crap out of me.

It still resizes them. I wasn't aware of that one but, thanks, now I am! :(

I actually have had my comment posted here completely erased. Even the comments that quoted my comment got erased. No ban, or private message telling me I violated any TOS. I just made a sarcastic comment about the MB MOO issue on the thread of how MacBooks were Times gadget of the week. So why would there be a comment about how crapy a release iTunes 7 is. :(

Ummm... there are all sorts of negatative comments about Apple and Apple products (including iTunes 7) on these boards. If you think that posts get deleted because they're critical of Apple you obviously haven't been around here long. Your "sarcastic comment" was probably reported by someone as being spam, flame-bait, trolling, or other anti-social behavior and the mods agreed. Deleting posts like that help to keep the threads on topic and the discussion civil.

Now, back to topic -- I never had any problems with iTunes 7 personally. The only thing I'm not crazy about is getting a "loading library" delay and status bar when first opening the program. Still happens with 7.0.1. Never did that in any previous version. Not a big deal since I usually never close iTunes.

Does this update fix that?

The Blue icon is not a fault, it was intensional by Apple....

I have not had any problem on my Mac, but any improvments and performance increases are welcome. ;)

The funniest thing is that I didn't have any problems with iTunes 7 until I got on to Macrumors and started to listen to everyone elses problems......

Absolutely agree. Freakin amazing isn't it? Sometime I think people just are picking scabs till they bleed. The more you fool around with something, the greater chance for problems.

Ah, damn. I seemed to have hosed my installation due to (?) Agua T.

I had aguaT installed for 7.0, worked great. Tonight, I updated to 7.0.1, seemed okay. Then installed the new AguaT (1.2 I believe), relaunched iTunes, and a message appears indicating the install of iTunes must be corrupt, need to reinstall. Now, software update doesn't bring the new update back, because it thinks I have it already installed. I downloaded the upgrade from Apple.com, which is around 25Mb, but when I try to install, for some reason it doesn't work - in the installer, the "Package Name" for iTunes is zero bytes, and it won't install (even thought I can confirm that the downloaded file is complete). I've tried re-downloading it a few times.

Fortunately, I kept a copy of iTunes 7.0 when I first applied AguaT. Unfortunately, I didn't keep a copy of 7.0.1, so it looks like I am stuck with 7.0. Hopefully, when 7.0.2 comes out, I will be able to upgrade.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Thanks Apple - The world's finest software program continues to get even better!

I spend 16 hours a day using iTunes - and way too much time trying to perfect my album artwork!

In /Library/Receipts, find iTunes.pkg and iTunesX.pkg and drag them out (to trash, whatever). Then try the installer again.

Volume Logic still does not work...

Would Apple intentionally 'break' it? I do not see why. I do miss it though.

I *hate* the horrid scrollbars. Why and who decided to do this change? I cannot see how this would pass Steve's UI test. It seems like many times iTunes is the testbed for new OS X UI updates for the future. But this is one I godly hope never makes it into OS X. If I had an interface like this on the Finder or any other app, I would puke. It is almost as if it's a joke, I thought version 7.01 would "fix" this. But no. Am I really all that alone here? Is there anyone on this board that actually likes the new scrollbar look?

Yes.. I think they rock. \m/

Here's hoping for the ability to copy and paste album art again.
That worked fine for me on 7.0. ACtually 7.0 was the first time I copied and pasted albumart. Before then, it seemed a bit useless to me.

I just wish Front Row had a Coverflow view as well.

I just got my refurb gen 5 iPod video 60GB tonight. So far all seems to be going well. UpdatediTunes to 7.1 and that seems ok as well. BTW, I'm using a PC with XP. Anyway, i am trying to see if my iPod has updated properly. I didn't look at the version number before I started, by the version is 1.1.2 now. Can anyone tell me if that sounds correct or what I should look for to confirm the update? Thanks in advance if you are able to help.

I just want to disagree with one thing they said: that this is a Mac OS X specific problem, and that Unix has no such issues.
<snip>

I didn't notice that within that article, but you are correct they are wrong!

Nice catch!

And thanks for the added input on that topic :) .

Weird, because it DEFINITELY didn't work (it was a feature I used everyday, so I noticed), however it now works in 7.0.1. Strange that the 7.0 bugs weren't consistent.

And many many more referenced to a phone an movies, apps etc that I have not seen in here before,...

Nothing new; 7.0 had all the phone references too. And given that Apple specifically calls it's DAP an 'iPod' in the string, why would they call their mobile phone just 'mobile phone'? Or maybe, that is their secret working name...like iTV!

Does anyone still have this problem... (blurry coverflow scrollbar)?

Picture 1.png

It appears blurry on my MacBook but looks just fine on my iMac G5.
