would someone be kind enough to enlighten me as to how the ipod touch remote option available in 7.7 works

the appstore will offer a free app from apple called "iRemote" or whatever and it'll let u control itunes over the air with your touch

Yeah that's cause the iPhone's being released in NZ before any other country. You're ahead of the rest of the world and Apple is treating each country (except US) according to time zone!

Sorry, but I'm in the UK and have had 7.7 in software update ever since the US have...

I'm pretty sure that 7.7 has only been uploaded in the US so far. I'm in Australia and there's no word of the update in iTunes and Software Updater. The Australian website still says "Download iTunes 7.6" whereas the US version says "Download iTunes 7.7". It should be uploaded in other countries very soon!

I'm in Sydney and it downloaded fine for me. Just popped up in Software Update like every other update.

I think its the remote you get with the universal dock I'm not sure.

on a side note to iTunes 7.7 US and UK sites still says 7.6 for me does that mean its still hosting 7.6 via download link for windows?

I'm using Windows XP and went to the apple site to download. It told me that what I was downloading was 7.7, but what I actually got was the 7.6.2 installer.

Trying again just yeilds the same results.

There were demo games for the iPod video, so my guess is yes. Uh-oh, im getting the iMunchies

even tho i got it from the US site the setup is going to be in the system language so if u have a german vista it turns the english iTunes setup basicly german so u should be fine in any language even tho u ddl the US one

Anyone notice that when you plug in your iphone there is no Apps tab in the iphone section.......

...yet there is an apps section in the library.

Im guessing that it'll obviously show when the iPhone is at 2.0.... but i would have thought it was part of itunes GUI?

1) The remote you get with the Universal Dock or :apple:TV have always worked with iTunes. The remote people are talking about here is the iPod Touch/iPhone remote control, where either will act as a remote for iTunes.

2) Not all sites are going to update instantly. The sites can't keep track of all new software updates as they happen...

Is this option new aswell?

how do you control iTunes from the Airtunes?

I even tried switching browsers and I'm still getting the 7.6.2 installer.

i just had a qucik recheck and ur right...the size is 57 megs so must be some hitch cos that 7.6. just so u dont keep downloading 7.6 over n over again look out for the size difference. 7.7 is 60 mb. ofcourse u could go to bed and everything will be runnin just fine wen u wake up but seeing ur up this lat ei can assume thats not really an option
