Arghh, iTunes 9 keeps asking me if I want to allow incoming connections. I say yes, but on next app launch it asks again and so on... very annoying!!!!

Same thing here. I've tried everything....reinstall, change settings, etc.

Do you have an Apple TV syncing with your computer?

-Kevin

I am so glad I have not update it yet.
I am busy at work, so not time to go through it. Just a quick glance here and I am shock that most people hate iTunes 9. I guess I will keep waiting.

But before I couldn't share apps between my wife and I even though we're both authorized on each other's computers. Before if I, say pulled Bejeweled from her and stuck it in my library it would toss out an "this application cannot be installed on this device" error.

That's probably because you and her are using different iTunes accounts. If you share one account (like I have always done), both devices always could download and use the same apps.

App Store subcategories?

Games in the app store are no longer in categories? Weren't they before 9?

Edit:

Still subcategorized on the iPhone App Store. Now in iTunes 9 I just get 657 pages of "Games". I must be missing something, no?

Here is my opinion on all of this-
First I like the look of the new iTunes, IDK why but I do.
Second, to get Genius Mixes you have to update Genius in the Store menu
Third, I agree with Apple not giving cameras to the touch. Apple needs to keep the iPhone and the iPod touch separate. If the iPod touch is everything the iPhone is without the phone, then it will deter some people from switching to it. Why go out and switch to a new iPhone and get stuck with an ungodly bill when you can keep your GoPhone and buy and buy and iPod Touch with the same features for nearly the same price? It may suck for people that don't wanna get iPhones but its life. That is why they released the touch after the iPhone, so people went out and bought the iPhone. Its business.Remember, Apple is a company trying to get money. There marketing strategy has always been the best in the industry so I trust them for the most part.
As for the new Nano's: I was going to buy a Flip but now im getting a Nano!

Just my take, everyone has there own opinions.

So new iTunes gives me the "!" next to all my movies that are on my external. When I click on each it will open the movie properly, but is there a way to make iTunes look/locate for all of the movies at once on the drive so that I do not have to go one by one of the 400 files that I have? anybody?

iTunes 9 confused still 32 bit

Why would iTunes 9 still be 32 bit when all other native mac apps are 64 bit? I can't understand why they would not have re-written (or adapted) iTunes to a 64 bit vers. If you look in activity monitor at the CPU tab, under "Kind" column it clearly says that all other programs running in snow leopard are 64 bit, while the iTunes 9 is 32 bit still. I can't understand this, it seems very un-apple. With some of the new artwork, coverflow views, and videos, it seems that a 64 bit app would be very useful. I am very pleased with the performance improvements in 64 bit versions of other apps in Snow Leopard. It would only seem logical that iTunes be updated or adapted to 64 bit as well. Doubtful that they will change that in any incremental 9.x vers of iTunes. Seems like they missed their chance. Do we have to wait until v. 10 for iTunes to take advantage of Snow Leopard?

horrid,

lost all of its personality. the layout has no flow and we're back to little weenie interface element of 1999. Why make interface elements (horizontal scroll bars) so small? whats the point. and the top artist showcase area, whats up with the layout, no flow at all. one cool thing, you can click on an info icon thats visible if you hover over an artist, clicking this icon allows you to purchase and preview without leaving the home page. the app seems more responsive (at the moment) so maybe the new design was the trade off for more speed but i doubt it. too minimalist and very poor layout. but to apples defense, its not an easy job laying out all that info.

Edit: alright alright, it isnt THAT bad. the movie pages have some nice touches to make things easier to navigate and your personal music "Browse" navigation mode is a lot more streamlined.

Try dragging and dropping them from Finder>External HD to itunes>movies

Right, we do. So when I get home I won't be able to share her apps? Hmm... I'll try it and get back to you.

Because one version of iTunes needs to be supported on OS 10.5 PPC and OS 10.5 Intel, as well as 10.6 64bit and 32bit.

Anyone tried using AppleTV with Itunes 9?

Mines not working. The ATV is seeing all movies and TV, but won't stream them. It comes up with the loading bar on the TV screen, but never loads to play

Also, even music is jumpy when playing. It's as though the ATV & Itunes just ain't in sync anymore :(

large libraries

for those who are interested. i'm feeling a significant performance boost with large libraries (mine is 383GB). iTunes seems to load a lot faster and clicking between songs is without delay as it occasionally was in 8. However seems to be a problem with scrolling? and there seems to be an increased amount of memory used (400mb real memory) im sure i remember iTunes 8 using a lot less.

on a side note i wish it wasn't white in the grid view :(

Am I the only one who likes some of the UI changes in iTunes 9?

No, you're not alone. I actually quite like it. True, it has a different gradient, but iTunes is it's own application, not an OS element; I don't think it needs to integrate perfectly with the "look" of SL. About the only thing I don't like is that white background on the grid view - man that's harsh.

HORRIBLE..

this whole event just should NOT have happened.

iTunes 9 sux balls. I want 8 back.

new look sux
features suck
no blu-ray
no fb integration

total FAIL.

How is it that they manage to make iTunes more and more ugly with each release. its like they're doing it on purpose.......:(

Agreed 100%!

Make sure you have a widescreen- because if you used the column view- better plan on all of it being used!! 2 versions back of iTunes is when they should have stopped. Why would someone think that many columns- instead of the old 'browse' in column view that used to be available (and was via a hack until today)- I have no idea. I hope someone finds a way to put the artist and album columns back on the top half fast so myself- and many others -don't have to have all 24" of my monitor used up so I can browse my library with the information I need to see when I do.

Every update is a step backwards.

Hello backup of iTunes 8.

So what you're saying is I shouldn't update iTunes when I get home from work. :D

Right, we do. So when I get home I won't be able to share her apps? Hmm... I'll try it and get back to you.

Actually, you should be able to. iTunes will ask to enable Home Sharing, and you have to input the Apple ID to share, and then enter the same password on the other account/computer.

So, you are correct in stating that this feature will allow families to share apps if they use different Apple IDs. However, it's not exactly changing and allowing apps on more than one device, since in the past, using 1 ID was a simple way to share apps between family members.

Hello backup of iTunes 8.

This is simple.....just go to View - Column Browser.

They actually FINALLY added more options!
