So...after updating to iTunes 9.0, it won't sync about 10% of my AppleTV movies that were working perfectly under iTunes 8.2.

Thanks again, Apple for f.cking up my movie collection, just like you did with the AppleTV 2.3-update.

Lame-ass wankers.

Agreed 100%!

I have no idea. I hope someone finds a way to put the artist and album columns back on the top half fast so myself- and many others -don't have to have all 24" of my monitor used up so I can browse my library with the information I need to see when I do.

Every update is a step backwards.

Hello backup of iTunes 8.

A good change they introduced is that the icon next to podcasts shows whether you have listened to it already or not (not just the binary "blue spot or nothing") from before. But the rest of the GUI is strange.

Where's The Miniplayer Gone?!

WHERE'S THE MINIPLAYER GONE?!
pressing the green resize button only changes the size, not put it to MiniPlayer!

GRR!! iTunes 8.2.1 is coming back!

iTunes seems to be letting me sync files to my iPhone 3GS 3.1 that it didn't previously, those encoded with the Apple TV profile by handbrake

Confirming its letting me do the same - just tried it with a 3 gig movie I did for my AppleTV (default AppleTV settings in handbreak). YEAH!

Dang, that's the second thing you've posted that is really going to bug me. The first was the bit about needing a Core 2 Duo.

Relax, you can just option-click the green button for switching to the mini-player. I'm glad they've changed this, now it acts like all the other apps, and you can still easily access the mini-player.

Because one version of iTunes needs to be supported on OS 10.5 PPC and OS 10.5 Intel, as well as 10.6 64bit and 32bit.

Apparently not true. There is a 64 bit vers of iTunes for Windows according to many users on the Apple support pages, but not for MAC!?! WTF!?!? Not all windows vers are 64 bit. Also, if this is the reason, why then is there a 64 bit (for snow leopard) of every app built into the OS, Mail, Preview, iPhoto, etc etc etc and also a 32 bit vers for OS 10.5 and earlier?

I stand corrected, iPhoto IS actually also 32 bit. Huh, hurry up and offer a 64 bit version of the iLife suite apple, c'mon.

With the iTunes Extras, will this include commentary tracks? This is something, among a few other things, which has driven me more to DVDs than online movie purchases. Commentaries by directors, writers and stars on some of the biggest films in the iTunes 9 library certainly wouldn't go amiss.

Installed it here, looks "different", not necessarily good or bad. I will miss the black background while in Grid Mode though. Why is it black in Cover Flow but white in Grid? Also the removal of the slider to adjust the size of the covers while in Grid Mode is kind of a bummer. Other than that... haven't really found anything else that irritates me.

And, well, the silver may be slightly too light... Feels a bit rushed and unfinished. Needs a bit more polishing.

I'll stick with iTunes 9 and hope for some updates to return features/enhancements from iTunes 8 - let's hope Apple listens.

thanks sandpiper and andy

i stand corrected!

morespce54, you can still drag tracks from iTMS to Library or Playlist in the same way.

also, is there any way to change the background of grid view from white to black (like that in iTunes 8)?!

Because the new apps in Snow Leopard are built for Snow Leopard. Apple isn't going to port its new apps to an old OS. However, iTunes MUST stay backward compatible. Go ahead and take Snow Leopard's mail client and try and open it on a PPC Tiger machine.

Seems to be okay for me. Purchased material and otherwise.

I'm still trying to figure out why iTunes won't allow TV Show/Movie tag editing...

3 examples probs from the Sync Music dialog alone

Although it seems a fair bit faster it also feels very unfinished.

3 examples from the Sync Music dialog alone

In the iPhone Sync Music there seems to be no way to deselect all artists which is going to be somewhat important if you don't want to have to scroll through thousands of artists to find the ones you chose last time but no longer want. Conclude: Scary for those with big libraries
Solution: Add a deselect all option.

Once you finally work out (thanks to this forum) how to get your Genius Mixes you have no idea how big they are or indeed how to reset /or reject those you may not like. Then when I tried to sync all of them to my 16GB G3 iTunes 9 didn't remove what I'd told it to remove & simply kept telling me I didn't have enough space. I eventually had to uncheck Sync Music to empty the phone and even then I'm now having to add a Genius Mix at a time just to see how far I can get!!!
Conclude: Mix seems good but probably need more control
Solution: At least display the darn size of the playlists, Artists, Mixes etc in the Sync Music dialog

And since when were audio books "Music"?

Here's hoping this rushed job isn't an indication of Steve's health and that he can now get his teeth into ironing out the bugs.

And just so y'all know I'm not a hater. I really appreciate the updates I just hope Apple are reading what their mavens are reporting for V9.1

Oh & one last little grip just in case Apple is reading this: I have two 24" screen - you know those iMac things made by erm Apple - on which I humbly suggest there might be room to replace the large amount of white space around the sync dialogs with something more useful....

Still it gives us an upgrade to look forward to for thanksgiving right?
