I just successfully got the update after one of the fail screens... everything seems good, but my battery menu dropdown is the exact same as before... why?

and anyone know if this fixes DFU mode for jailbreak?

I've tried to install about 10 times now, but I just get this message (about 10% into the download) after it tells me it's going to take 4 hours!!:

tbh, I've never had this BS before, and there's nothing great about this upgrade, I think I'll just wait for SL...

It starts off downloading then freezes and I get the digital signature error...

Same issue here. Trying it over again.
So is this going to help keep my MBP connected? It is kind of shameful.

I got around this by downloading the file from the 1st post of the thread. The only issue though, is I got stuck on a blue screen, had to power down hard style, then it self-rebooted 2-3 times after I powered up; now all is well.

Updating through software update didn't work. I am now downloading from the website.

10.5.6 // 1.25 GHZ PPC // MDD

EDIT: Looks like install is going smoothly... I would suggest that people who get the error when using software update download from apples site.

Thanks, download seems to be going smooth from the website.

Combo update on a 2.16 BlackBook, all is well thus far.

And I must say, Safari 4 is indeed running much better. I previously got really bad hangs when loading Flash content, but everything seems very snappy right now. ;)

Now it's doing it to me too. WTF.

The imac here is like in an infinite loop trying to come back from clicking on reboot.

Did a manual reboot and it worked that time. I had the digital signature error a zillion times for the 200 meg version, so I grabbed the 400 megger from apple.com.

Installed the 400mb pack first without any problem. However, I could not get the power setting menu under the menu bar. So I downloaded and installed to the 700mb combo pack and installed again, but no luck too. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Btw, I'm reading everyone has to reboot TWICE during the update but I only had to reboot ONCE, for both the 400mb and 700mb update. What gives?

It reboots itself. Did you walk away and maybe miss a reboot?

i had as similar problem, i installed the normal one (not the combo) and it installed fine, but got stuck on the blue screen for about an hour during the restart. I had to power down and it took about 3 reboots before it got to the log in. The new power options are in the menu bar and everything but I still have the old bulb under the System Pref panels. I also installed the new Safari 4 Beta, and that has been fine so far. But yeah, how do I get the new bulb under prefs?

I had this exact same problem. I tried installing the 400mb pack through software update and I was missing the power settings menu. I then tried installing the 700mb pack from the apple site and it still didn't fix it. I'm currently in the process of reinstalling OSX.. and then I'll be applying the 700mb pack. I'll let you know if that works out.

Resolution out of whack!

Alright this is very odd and very, very annoying...

Suddenly my trusty MacMini has become absolutely unaware that it's projecting the signal to my Samsung R37 TV. The resolution is all out of whack!

I can hardly read the text I am typing now, I can't see Samsung in the monitors selection anymore and it doesn't detect it either.

It shows that it's able to project 1920 x 1080 which I wasn't even aware it could, it's the MacMini Core Duo not Core 2 Duo, so I'm surprised.

Either way the resolution is horrible even in 1920, it's too rough and the text is too rough and soft on the edges.

Furthermore, I can't zap the PRAM to see if it would help cause when I do that, the keyboard or rather the Mini Doesn't respond to my key combinations.

What the heck went wrong? Anyone out there with the same issues? or some ideas of how I can make it work with my LED TV again?
:(

Long Installation??

i downloaded the update in 15mins but the update is still running after an hour.. i am on the loading screen with a black spinning circle in the middle(still spinning).. normal??

So I press restart after the combo update, and I see this blank blue screen with a spinning circle for about 5 minutes now. wtf? Is this normal?

dL

Wow I didn't realize anyone was having problems until I read this thread. I downloaded it and installed without a hitch. I haven't noticed any differences. Let's hope my computer doesn't keep messing up my permissions of everything.

:(

There were posts in the thread that was here before it got deleted about resolution problems. Someone was trying to use a Samsung 4 Series or tv or something.. I don't remember. I don't think it ever got resolved. This update seems to have introduced more problems than it has fixed. :(

:(

There was a few reports of this in the thread that broke, along with a resolution. You need to search for a config utility to get it working. Sorry I cant help more with the name

Apparently 10.5.7 didn't fix the permission data related to iLife apps in the reference .bom, and Disk Utility still gives a bunch of permission discrepancies when repairing permissions. I know this isn't a problem per se because it's just .bom fooled Disk Utility into believing there should be real files when actually there are symbolic links. But I was expecting 10.5.7 to fix it.
