Sounds like Apple pushed snow leopard out the door too quick. You get what you pay for I guess... These are all problems that should have been addressed with 10.6.0...

I laugh every time I log into macrumors and read this 10 year old's responses. Please, this kid comes on the site and talks crazy and gets everybody all worked up. Just ignore him and maybe he will go away forever. They should have an age restriction on this forum.

I probably use Apples and Macs way before you were even born, kiddo. So before spreading or agreeing with BS, respond objectively to the points that I've raised.

1 - I have absolutely NO issues to report on SL, which has been more than rock-solid for me in usage that comprises intensive Internet and communications apps, gaming, media management, productivity software, email and various downloaded software that have been added to my library from time to time.

2 - This IS still a Mac-centric site dedicated to rumors involving Apple. So it is more than obvious that you tend to find real Apple enthusiasts instead of obtuse Windows fans. If you are still annoyed by that fact, just do me a favor and get the hell out of here; and don't forget to buy a PC and start visiting Windows SuperSite for your own benefit.

3 - I am gonna change your last suggestion to the following:

They should have a computer ownership and usage restriction on this forum. If you have a PC and use Windows, you shouldn't be a member. If you have a PC and illegally use OS X, you shouldn't be a member either. Finally, if you come here just to troll about Apple's 'mishaps' in order to attract attention in a space that naturally presumes a preference to Apple products, you should also be out.

Does that sound better to you now?

Zero issues. If someone says Snow Leopard = Vista I'm forced to say HE/SHE/IT is an idiot.

Thank you for stating the obvious; at least I am not the only one having seen the light here.

I am very impressed by your level of good fortune. Others experiencing troubles may ask 'Why'... then may look at their configurations and still might not find the answer...then they perhaps blame the code in order to find the answer... and might even believe to have found the cause of the problem in the software or hardware...

However... this only explains 'How' they are experiencing their troubles... Perhaps 'Why' takes a little deeper digging being careful not to mistaken how for why ;)

(Bug free...hopefulleeee)

I fully agree with you; the problem with people using this forum for complaints is that they always tend to blame the big company for issues they cannot properly identify.

Worse yet, they tend to believe that the issues they face are the issues 99% of Mac users suffer from, which is absolutely not the case...in other words, think of it as Olsen's Theorem applied to IT troubleshooting.

So now every time I scroll down in an email, the text in the email gets blurred, bold, and discolored. The further I scroll, the worst it gets.

USPS Click'N Ship Broken with Snow Leopard 10.6.2

Hello.

I just got the 10.6.2 update and tried the United States Postal Service Click 'N Ship on Safari. Still not working. The Adobe thing won't pop up when you go to print a shipping label.

So I updated Adobe Reader to the latest with no effect.

No big deal, not the end of the world (for me) but maybe something to keep in mind.

It does work under Leopard, just never has worked with SL.
I thought maybe the plug-in fixes would do it but apparently not.

Otherwise, SL has been great with the occasional refusal to authenticate.
Maybe that will work OK now as that appears to be one of the fixes.

Have Fun,
Keri

Can't test it myself, but have you tried disabling Safari's built-in PDF support?

It looks like the Open/Save dialog crashes are fixed now.

I'm still on 10.5.8 because Spotlight or Finder is somehow losing the Spotlight comments.

It was gone for one day after the 10.6.2 update, but now I've seen the distortion again. Once.

Yep. Just seen it too. Maybe this will be resolved by 10.7. What a joke.

(And, if anything, the other graphics glitches are even worse with this update!)

Wow NS, I thought you'd be experienced enough to know what I was getting at. You completely ignore a main point to rant on about Vista.
What did I ignore? You said that 10.6.0 was just as buggy as Vista and I pointed out at least one reason, based on MS' own actions in dropping the Vista brand entirely, why that's a preposterous comparison.

Forgive me if I missed the point you were making, but I didn't intentionally step around it. If your point was that 10.6.0 was not a perfect release, fine. Setting anecdotal evidence aside, that's backed up by the huge number of fixes in 10.6.2 issued only a couple of months after 10.6.0. So there, I'm reasonable ;)

I just look at it from a different perspective. You and I both know that there were massive changes in SL and that it's way more than a "performance and stability" release. Given the magnitude of the changes, I'm impressed by the relatively few number of bugs. When you take into account the huge increase in the number Mac users over the last few years, it seems like there have been fewer problems with 10.6.0 than there were with 10.5.0. And now the 10.6 bugs are getting fixed at a pretty damn rapid pace. So I just don't see any big problem.

Back on topic, 10.6.2 is running fine for me. No issues. A few people mentioned that their sound preferences were being reset on reboot. I have a MOTU UltraLite mk3 and the sound preferences were untouched. I'm running the latest driver from MOTU which was updated for SL, so drivers might a factor. Obviously, anyone having problems with audio hardware should check for updated drivers and let the manufacturer know about any problems they're having in SL. Don't just assume that it's a Snow Leopard bug.

Snappier!

Upgrading to 10.6.2 has made my fingers snappier!

However, I'm glad to see they finally fixed the four-finger swiping on laptops in Snow Leopard. That problem didn't occur in Leopard, but its always been present in Snow Leopard (until now).

I just updated this morning and got a terrible issue with iWeb: with certain blog themes (i.e. Gazette for example) the program crashed with a SFWordProcessing plugin error. The sad thing is that i made the page just a few minutes before upgrading, and right after i'm not able any more to work at the project.

And i must admit that things were not so bad with 10.6.1.... I regret updating.

I have been on the phone to AppleCare for over an hour about the same message, but for a KeyNote presentation. They told me to try loads of things, but the thing that finally fixed it was:

Go in to your Home folder and then into Library.
Move the Caches folder to the Desktop
Make a new folder on your Desktop called LaunchAgents
Move the contents of the LaunchAgents folder in your Home folder Library into the new LaunchAgents folder on the Desktop and ensure it's gone from your Home folder's Library
Log out and back in, then it started working
If it does work, trash the files, otherwise put them back

Again, I've tested the comments issue and it works fine here...what is the problem?

I have had a few issues with Snow on my MacBook. You might be one of the majority who is lucky, (I would agree that most people will have few issues and most of them minor) however some people do have issues. Apple has even acknowledged some of those issues so they DO exist.

Anyone else noticing that preview is very unstable or is it just me?
Preview has been unstable and buggy for me since 10.6.0, much worse than Leopard's version which had no issues. I don't think there have been any updates to it yet. :(

Like others I had my audio output mysteriously changed after 10.6.2 and had to go into the the Audio MIDI Setup to change it back to Line Out, an old trick for a bug that I though we left behind long ago...

The is the first OS X minor update where I've had any issues at all, though, and I'm counting all the way back to 10.1.

Quiet Volume

I have updated my late 2009 MBP to 10.6.2 and i have noticed even though my volume is on maximum the sound is low, and that is from all sources i.e. iTunes, email alerts, calendar alerts etc

Is any one else suffering the same ?

Sorry in advance if it has already been covered but i have searched but couldn't find anything :D

I realized this problem with Safari in 10.6 also.
It's good to be resourceful and to have options to get the job done. Opera works great for this:
