App Store not working

When I press download, whether it is a free or paid app, after about 5 seconds I get a damn pinwheel. The App Store does not respond and I must force quit. I get no error message and I have already accepted the new terms and conditions. I have also restarted, shut down, and reset p-ram. Any advice would be great.

Any performance/appearance improvement with 10.6.6 update???

Just wondering if aside from the MacStore stuff anyone had noticed any improvements or other changes in comparison to 10.6.5?

Removing Apps from Purchases

I, like many of you I assume, have downloaded a few few things that clearly free for a reason. I've uninstalled them from my Mac, but they still show on my Purchases list. Anyone know of a way to remove them from this too?

I'd like to remove the freebies for testing from my purchase list also as it clogs up relevant things I want on there. I don't think there is a way and if there is I would say you would have to log into the account settings page *shrug* BUMP

Anybody else find the App Store App's constant demand for a password extremely annoying? Every time you want to do anything it wants your password, even if you've recently entered it.

Also, the Support link doesn't work.

Yes, very annoying!

Happened to me as well. Reboots did nothing, etc.

I "fixed" it by clicking on a free app and walking away for an hour or two after the pinwheel started. When I came back, it wanted my username/password. After that, its been fine.

Why does the MAS close when I press the X? It doesn't seem consistent with the other apps that require "Quit" to shut them down? I would like it to stay open without the window hovering around.

Also, has anyone noticed any other changes with 10.6.6?

Quick question, is it possible to upgrade from 10.5 to 10.7, once Lion is out? or is there a need to upgrade to 10.6 then 10.7? I'm talking about just an upgrade, not purchasing the complete 10.7.

I am actually disappointed that this wasn't added to ITunes :( I was hoping they'd add apps to ITunes and then hopefully Windows software to ITunes. Then they could move to adding some auto dealerships to ITunes and maybe a home grocery shopping service...and how about pizza and mochas?

I could do all my shopping without leaving the app at all!

Wow. Could you imagine ordering Cappuccinos and pizza and chips and pretzels from your desk and having it show up 20 minutes later already paid for (except the tip)?

I'm gonna have to call BS on that one.

Unless you hit a temporary glitch, but that picture looks like the '11 was poorly shopped from the line above (doesn't seem to align at the base of the wording).

Actually it's very consistent if you understand the Mac OS very well. If an application can serve no other function without the the window being open it will automatically quit when you press the red X. Example, iPhoto, iMovie and System Preferences.

The only issue I have is this is yet another thing I can't use because I can't afford to upgrade to an Intel Mac and Snow Leopard.

that mean's a release must be very close and they didn't have it ready for today

So Apple in fact did consider to publish iWork '11 along with the App Store. I wonder why they didn't. Considering that Pages '09 is currently in the top ten of most downloaded apps, a lot of people will be disappointed when Pages '11 comes along real soon and they are required to pay again.

You're right, but I would like it to check for updates in the background which I why I wanted to leave it running without having to have the window open.

I'm hoping that they choose to allow anyone who purchases iWork '09 through the Mac App Store to upgrade to iWork '11 for free, assuming it drops anytime soon. There's really no reason for them not to, because they'll just end up with angry customers on their hands if they don't.

Of note, btw, this won't affect me, I've had iWork '09 since it was released, so I wouldn't get that free upgrade.
