Fantastic. Any idea how I can use this to make a bootable USB drive?Bash:wget --continue http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/50/49/001-79699-A_93OMDU5KFG/dkjnjkq9eax1n2wpf8rik5agns2z43ikqu/InstallAssistant.pkg
This is the raw file of the update installer. with the --continue flag, wget will continue the download if it fails and you have to run it again.
you might have to install wget through homebrew or macports.
they just want you to buy a newer MacBook basicallyGutted my MacBook Pro Retina 2012 is not getting this...
I know it's 8 years old, but it still runs Catalina so well, can't really understand what's the limitation with Big Sur!
Install the pkg by double clicking. It will then install the regular "Install macOS Big Sur.app" into your application directory. Then proceed as usual.Fantastic. Any idea how I can use this to make a bootable USB drive?
