Something finally shook loose (knock on wood). It resumed past the initial re-re-redownload that was again stuck at 220.2MB with 2 days to go. Now I'm looking at 927.2MB downloaded with 3 hours remaining.

eta update: Great. I think I just jinxed myself. Stalled at 945.9MB.

Ugh, got stuck for a long time at 4.5GB and said update failed. When I restarted update, it started over (had failed once before but picked up from where it left off that time)

Bash:
wget --continue http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/50/49/001-79699-A_93OMDU5KFG/dkjnjkq9eax1n2wpf8rik5agns2z43ikqu/InstallAssistant.pkg

This is the raw file of the update installer. with the --continue flag, wget will continue the download if it fails and you have to run it again.

you might have to install wget through homebrew or macports.

Failed three times so far in the middle of the download. Trying again. (I have very fast internet, so the issue is at the CDN or Apple)

Fantastic. Any idea how I can use this to make a bootable USB drive?

Yeah.....normally only takes 20-30 minutes for me to download a 12GB file......but with everyone hitting Apple servers at once it’s saying 23hrs ETA. I think I’ll wait to download before bed 😂

Keeps failing here too, so it seems to be a CDN issue. You'd thing these things automatically scale in 2020 to deal with surplus demand.

My download failed. Restarting reload seemed to say 11.0.1?? Stuck at 440.4 at the moment

Anyone else seeing download speeds that would take 3-4 days to download? Been downloading for over an hr and only have 250MB downloaded.

A bunch of people who have "succeeded" in installing are showing 11.0.1 (including me) -- that does not appear to be the real release. It's 2 GB rather than 12, and the icons for Pages, Keynote and Numbers are still the old ones, not the new ones. I think it's the final beta, which was cued up for installation before I removed the machine from the beta program. Attempting the real download now: "about 1 day remaining."
