Sorry about that, remember Apple has the feedback page to report such issues. I would do that right away so they know of issues with your system. Make sure you put the model of the Mac so they will know to test one of the computers in the lab.

Will do, although ironically the Feedback page still hasn’t been updated for Catalina so doesn’t list music/appletv/podcasts yet.

I just installed the beta profile so that I can get the Feedback Assistant (why they don’t allow non beta users to have that is beyond me)

Please report the model of your mac and the model of the EGPU to the apple Feedback page so they can test the configuration in the lab. They have a very nice test lab :)

I always put it under general information if they do not have a category yet. That seems to work, it worked for me. Or i have put it under the previous version of the OS that has worked also.

Emoji updates have nothing to do with Apple, they're Unicode standard updates that Apple has to support, unless you want to see "☐" whenever someone's send you a new emoji from a device that did have the updated Unicode. Everyone chill the **** out.

Why the hostility? Emoji is in the headline and the first item mentioned. It's an interesting topic and their focus on it compared to other obvious problems is stunning.

Furthermore, you may be interested to know that Peter Edberg, a Senior Software Engineer at Apple, is one of the two editors of the UTS #51 standard. The other is from Google.

Apple may have to support UTS #51, but they also write it. "Nothing to do with Apple" is not at all accurate.

They do, it's in /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications

It's PNG images in a font (Apple Color Emoji). It doesn't take a programmer to do anything. You draw the image, export it as PNG, then probably ages ago some programmer wrote a tool to merge that PNG into the font.
Ummm that's totally NOT the way emojis are added to fonts...

No, it does not. What a joke!!! As far as transmitting artwork to my airplay2 enabled Denon receiver, no, it does not show artwork.

So does it take hours as it did before 'loading artwork' and then come down to a crawl?

If so then I am not upgrading, absolutely shocking.

First time in my life, I’m skipping a MacOS upgrade.

The quality problems are too extensive, and the marquee features are tepid for my needs. It’s weird to skip something from Apple, but once I made the decision about it, I felt great. What I have today works amazingly well.

You do realize that Apple is simply complying with the unicode emoji standard…
Well that and some people think that Apple invests too many resources into this emoji thing. Let's not forget that All of Apple operating systems are included in Apple's Bug Bounty Program so I think in time the quality of their software will get better and better.
