Combo is up.

LOL we posted at almost the same time I think.

Ha. And of course, on both my machines I get this:
Screen Shot 2019-01-22 at 3.59.45 PM.png

I'm running a 2017 iMac and a 2017 Macbook Pro

What MacBooks are these?

Mid 2012 Retina and non-Retina 15" MacBook Pro, Late 2012, Early 2013, Late 2013 and Mid 2014 Retina 15" MacBook Pros.

Late 2013 iMacs as well, GT 750M and GT 755M, 775M and GTX 780M. My iMac is still stuck on High Sierra right now, running 387.10.10.10.40.113, which works fine. Not looking to roll the dice at this time, so I guess I will wait.

Just fix it Apple, I should be able to upgrade to Mojave AND run CUDA along with NVIDIA's Web Drivers. Quit screwing around...I am not buying a new iMac anytime soon.

EDIT: Late 2012 iMacs too, forgot those bad boys too...

So I just figured it out. And this makes no sense. You must first do the update from within software update and then you can do the combo. This means there was some sort of security patch in the update from within the software updater. I’ve seen this before.

Interesting, thanks.

When I click install I just get a pop up saying “A server with the specified host name could not be found. An error occurred while installing the selected updates.”

Can confirm that yes, if you install from SU first, the Combo will install afterwards. Of course that kind of negates the purpose of downloading the Combo ;-) Thanks Apple!

Indeed there is! Thanks for the tip-off, @martyjmclean :)

This news helps persuade me to hold out a little longer instead of buying a 2017 5K iMac.
I hope you guys understand that at the quickest Apple will get those GPUs is AFTER official desktop launch?

And that will not happen till June-July timeframe. June - announcement, July - availability of those GPUs. The GPUs are supposed to be announced at E3.

Looks like something is wrong with the update, mine just loops back to checking for updates after saying there is an update.

Confirmed. The 2minute plus cold boot delay when booting from external SSD USB is fixed with this release.

But my regular Bootup Time has now doubled.

Apple continues to fail in figuring out how to give us a Software Update Banner Notification.

Apple's relationship with AMD seems to be pretty tight. Based on earlier beta builds of Mojave, Apple has been testing Navi GPUs for quite a while. As long as AMD has got the 7nm process down and yields are high, I do not see any reason why Apple would not receive sufficient quantities of them at launch and announce them along with AMD as WWDC may end up happening the same week as E3, possibly the week before.

This also gives Intel time to announce and ship Core i5-9500, i5-9600 and i7-9700 CPUs for Apple to use in the iMacs as well.

Did you get the update to install? I always wait a day or so to see if there are many major issues with an update..would like to download this but only if its installing properly

I have installed properly via Software Update just now.

Also I can confirm (via @anaudiopro) that after installing via SU, the combo works for whatever reason.

Awesome thanks SO much for confirming that it works. I dont have combo just a single hard drive on my macbook pro..am always nervous when new updates are available worried about boot loops, etc guess its just the luck of the draw :)

Only issue with the normal System Prefs update for me on both machines was that the first check in Sys Prefs didn't show an update. I needed to close Sys Prefs and re-open to check again before the update appeared.

FYI - ANY Apple macOS update these days seems to be a risk :D;)

Oh that's happened to me a few times, that is why I liked the App Store updated process MUCH better but they changed it with MacOS Mojave I guess
