Cool, looking forward to this one! Had just started using Memories, and if the patch makes it even better then great!

I can't find anything about the HDMI port on the new MBPs being upgraded to 2.1?
It basically says that HDMI 2.0 does not exist anymore and is now part of HDMI 2.1. And some features are “optional” but still falls under HDMI 2.1.

So it is not upgraded by Apple, just a change in standards. Thats why I said off topic.

My new 16” MaxBook delivers tomorrow. Should I update my current 16” MacBook Pro from 12.0.1 to 12.1 now or would it be better to wait until after I do the file transfer to the new MaxBook? I’m assuming the new one is going to have 12.0.1 installed so my guess is that it would be better to keep my current laptop on 12.0.1 as well but on the flip side I’m thinking it might be better to do the transfer under 12.1 due to how buggy 12.0.1 has been. Thoughts?
12.1 is better than 12.0.1 for sure. But, transferring is always better during initial setup, otherwise you risk creating a user account, and then having permission issues. I'd do the transfer as it comes out of the box, then immediately upgrade.

Where does it say this in the system?

Does anyone know whether this fixes the bug causing USB hubs not to work. It is the only thing keeping me from upgrading from Big Sur, as I rely very heavily on my CalDigit Element hub with my M1 Mac Mini.
This ^^^^^. Have stayed on Big Sur after hearing about the many issues with USB hubs causing issues. I rely on a hub to connect my classroom SmartBoard and multiple peripherals to my M1 Air, and it's a non-starter if this issue continues to persist in Monterey.

Jesus, HDMI 2.1 is such a mess with all the features that are optional but also partly available on 2.0. Probably the same people that effed up the USB standard ?
