It basically says that HDMI 2.0 does not exist anymore and is now part of HDMI 2.1. And some features are “optional” but still falls under HDMI 2.1.I can't find anything about the HDMI port on the new MBPs being upgraded to 2.1?
12.1 is better than 12.0.1 for sure. But, transferring is always better during initial setup, otherwise you risk creating a user account, and then having permission issues. I'd do the transfer as it comes out of the box, then immediately upgrade. My new 16” MaxBook delivers tomorrow. Should I update my current 16” MacBook Pro from 12.0.1 to 12.1 now or would it be better to wait until after I do the file transfer to the new MaxBook? I’m assuming the new one is going to have 12.0.1 installed so my guess is that it would be better to keep my current laptop on 12.0.1 as well but on the flip side I’m thinking it might be better to do the transfer under 12.1 due to how buggy 12.0.1 has been. Thoughts?
New bug, cursor get's stuck on the vertical resize bar in finder. And the USB issues still persist on spinning drives (SSD's look much better)

So it is not upgraded by Apple, just a change in standards. Thats why I said off topic.
UPDATE: Not sure if they have fixed this on the maOS end, but it sure appears to be fixed on iOS!!!!I can't wait to see if the have fixed this issue. It's now not only happening on macOS but also on iOS and iPadOS!
Perfect, so same als RC. Thx!Production build 21C52
Do we know if the RC presents the memory leak issue?Perfect, so same als RC. Thx!
I haven't had the Memory Leak issue once since I moved to the initial macOS 12.2 RC (fingers crossed).Do we know if the RC presents the memory leak issue?
12.1 you mean??I haven't had the Memory Leak issue once since I moved to the initial macOS 12.2 RC (fingers crossed).
Im sure they mean that. A bit confusing to have 12.1 and 15.2 released at the same time.12.1 you mean??
Yep trueIm sure they mean that. A bit confusing to have 12.1 and 15.2 released at the same time.
Derp. Yes/12.1 you mean??
Sorry nowhere. Its not related to this software update, mere an announcement and sort of mocking why Apple added 2.0 instead of 2.1.Where does it say this in the system?
This ^^^^^. Have stayed on Big Sur after hearing about the many issues with USB hubs causing issues. I rely on a hub to connect my classroom SmartBoard and multiple peripherals to my M1 Air, and it's a non-starter if this issue continues to persist in Monterey.Does anyone know whether this fixes the bug causing USB hubs not to work. It is the only thing keeping me from upgrading from Big Sur, as I rely very heavily on my CalDigit Element hub with my M1 Mac Mini.

Jesus, HDMI 2.1 is such a mess with all the features that are optional but also partly available on 2.0. Probably the same people that effed up the USB standard ?It basically says that HDMI 2.0 does not exist anymore and is now part of HDMI 2.1. My 2012 MacBook Pro’s USB ports are upgraded twice…!Jesus, HDMI 2.1 is such a mess with all the features that are optional but also partly available on 2.0. Probably the same people that effed up the USB standard ?
