I might have a workaround, you can try using an app called Boom 2, its used as a equalizer/volume booster
Once you open the app, just use the Option key and then click the speaker to change the Output Device to "Boom2Device", if this fixes the issue you might have to try and reload the kext extension for Audio.

Minor issue on MacBook Pro 11,1. After update restart, following login, screen went black and stayed black. Forced restart with no issues.

Also holding off until the air is clear. (10.12.3)
(Despite itching to update)

Agreed!!! Especially after hearing this update was rushed out to meet the release date of the new macs. So that leaves me with two assumptions about 10.12.1

1) It was somewhat rushed ... therefore may be buggy
2) It's 'under the hood' changes were primarily to accomodate the new macs - with not regard to making sure older macs (2014 and earlier especially) worked well with it.

Can you post a credible link about this update being rushed?

if it coincides with a hardware release, its almost to be expected there's some form of rushing historically speaking even if no credible link can be provided, i would imagine

Oh – um – I remember reading it wasn't working yet, just looked now and mine says:

"0 Photos Scanned

Photos will continue scanning your remaining 13.353 photos when you're not using the app and your Mac is connected to power"

Maybe it's just not available chez @navaira. I have a limited edition of Sierra. *beams proudly*
Sounds like an even better reason NOT to use Photos.
I have some 120,000 pictures on my MacPro (old type). 99.9999% of then do not include a face. Well, as a landscape, wildlife and steam railway photographer, selfies are not my thing at all. Why would I waste all those electrons scanning images for things it will never find unless it can differentiate between the members of a Ringtail Lemur Family that I regularly photograph.

I hope they debugged the hell out of Safari. It's been a pain to use.

Just quoting myself to say that they haven't fixed a couple of things I've already reported to them. E.g. how when you drag a URL to a Favorites Bar folder leaves a permanent gap between the favorites. The only way to solve that is to restart Safari. Boo, Apple.

I still don't get why not offer it on the day of the release though, as they previously have. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I updated my Mac mini no issues

Immediate restart your Mac! When I booted Sierra the first time on my Mac Mini 2012, CPU temperature was going up to 100° (Celsius), took all CPU resources. After a restart all was fine. It could be Spotlight going nuts with some files.
I would suggest using MacsFan app it will cool it down

Why so many links for Sierra?
I hoped there is just one dmg or pkg file.
Which one to download?
Please give me the most complete option.

Often apple do provide such a combined dmg but at this stage they are only available as separate pkg files.

They might be combined later.
