Not showing up in Austin, TX, as of 8:30 AM.

Been checking the UK App Store since the announcement, but still not showing.

Did you try opening the App Store app then go to the Updates tab and just leave it there and wait a minute or so?

That is what I had to do yesterday to see the update. When I first went to the update tab there was nothing, then after about a minute the update showed up.

I just use Cmd + R and it forces a check. Always works for me.

A combination of these two did the trick. Thanks guys.

Well, I updated this morning, and not as difficult as I expected. I had previously downloaded the Combo Updater from Apple. I modified the Nvidia kext. I then updated the OS with the Combo Updater. Got to the desktop, I then downloaded Nvidia's driver 378.05.05.15f01. I then restarted and got to the desktop. I then found the latest Cuda 8.0.83 and download that. No restart necessary. And BOOM, everything's updated, and my cMP 5,1 is running smooth as silk.

BTW, I'm running an MVC flashed Gigabyte GTX 1080.

I just finished updating... My Performance MX mouse won't pair anymore. Looks like Logitech will be coming out with new unifying receiver driver/software here in the next day or two.

My MX Master Mouse is working perfectly in 10.12.5.

I have the M510 mouse and the M525 mobile mouse, different than yours and maybe older but had no issues with the unifying receiver/software.

Why would they go back to older standard H264 which has licensing costs over the newer, more efficient and free VP9 codec? Not to mention for the Safari which has only 15.9% market share vs. Chrome, Firefox and Opera which have about 70%.

Because it works. Because devices have hardware acceleration for it and not for VP9. Because it works on Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, IE, Edge etc. They removed support only to push their format. They could have kept both and simply preferred VP9.

Well, maybe they fixed something in audio - but they didn't change the MOST annoying feature - that every time I finish a call on my bluetooth headphones it decides I need to listen to music - even if I hadn't been before. I end up screaming at Siri to turn the ***** music off. She says, OK, I'll pause it, which isn't what I want - I want it stopped, until I want it on again.

1 desk - 1 Mac.
1 human - average 3 more family members - 4 iPhones, maybe 2 iPads, maybe 1 or 2 or more Mac laptops.

where should we focus? :p

Having it to boot my MacBook may just not be happening soon, but I am using it on an external drive, and boy that system is really, really fast. Previously had it formatted HFS and it was "just working". After reformatting it to APFS, it is really, really fast. File transfers between my MBP and that disk that took long, now take seconds and just a few minutes. Really, really fast. I cannot overstate this. I look forward to having APFS on the SSD inside the MBP 2016. Times they are a changin' !
I agree, the filesystem is excellent, even if it's missing many features that us ZFS users take for granted. It's certainly an upgrade over HFS, without question. However, I'm going to sit back and let you people be my guinea pig for a month or so after it's released, because, as I said, there are more variables when booting off of a drive, than there are just using it as a data store. It seems to be working fine on iOS, and despite some incompatibilities with certain applications, it's working fine as a data store, but I'm still hesitant.

Does anyone else have an issue with 10.12.5 and Dell P2715Q and MBP touchbar (USB-C)?

Once I upgraded to 10.12.5, Dell P2715Q stopped working with my MBP touchbar. I am using a displayport-to-USB-C adaptor to use the monitor, and now it either renders at a very low resolution or just turns black (including the MBP display). When I look at the console, it logs tons of "invalid display" messages.

Were you able to sort out your external display issue? I have a MBP touchbar connected to a UP2414Q which is very similar and I don't want to get hosed.

Why do you recommend this? I've always updated Xcode via the App Store
The problem is that it seems Apple hasn't covered any abnormal cases in the download/installation process. Maybe you've been lucky, but even if nothing goes wrong, you can't use Xcode while it's downloading. And if something does go wrong, you waste lots of time.

My colleagues and I have always had some kind of problem updating through the MAS. The typical one is that it gets stuck on 100% downloaded forever, not sure why. Or we lose Internet connection for a sec, interrupting the download, and it gets stuck in limbo. Then we try and cancel/delete it then retry, and that sometimes creates more issues. I personally have counted more times it's failed than succeeded. No point in trying anymore; I just go straight to https://developer.apple.com/downloads

Because whatever they did screwed things up. I don't think VP9 is even more efficient on any common platform/device. A new, open video codec would be great, but I want it to work right before they completely replace H.264 with it. Oh well, hopefully everyone will scramble to support it nicely.

i like macs and i like apple "mac os" why you think i'm running sierra and not windows
but the problem is i can't install a water cooler on a mac
Why the water cooler? My air-cooled Linux PC/mini-server seems fine under max load. BTW, there actually once was a water-cooled Mac, the quad-CPU PowerMac G5 :D

One fix I have noticed on my MacBook Pro 13" 2015 is no more crash on using Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter. On 10.12.4 as soon as the Ethernet adapter connected my MacBook Pro would crash. Testing it now on Ethernet and all is good.

sure no problem i tell you why, first if i want to overclock, i want my system to be the coldest as possible, i know new processor don't overheat that much and you can still get a decent OC fan cooling but still the colder the better and the other reason is because it looks cool, i have a pcore thermaltake case and it looks very good specially if you add a water cooler and have all the parts showing and looking good.
i did't know about that mac that you mentioned thanks for telling me that

but i think that is an old model that if i'm going to use it today i will have to do some customizations
in order for me to fit new parts and have it the way i want it
but anyway is good to know that there it was a mac with water cooling back in the day
:)

You misunderstood me. I said what I am asking for is off topic (asking for your config).
no problem, i was only trying to be funny in a good cool way
:)

Solid update from Apple.
Just did the update Safari not working both Firefox and Chrome working correctly. Safari comes up with blank screen and spinning ball. Did system restart same problem.

Apple store also opens with a blank screen and I am unable to navigate within it. I really do not want to go through download and install process again. Anyone any bright ideas on what could be wrong.

Just to share my experience with the update. The Touch ID on my MBP2016 failed after updating and start up of the system took a million years. The progress bar stuck at about 50-75% and it took 3-5 minutes to boot into the system.

After trying resetting whatever PRAM etc., it was still the same.

After some googling I found that it was because the Symantec Antivirus installed on my Mac actually blocked the update of the firmware of the Touch Bar, which is technically a separate device than your MacBook Pro. Your Mac tries hard to update the firmware again and again during boot up and therefore the boot up took so long.

After uninstalling Symantec Antivirus and rebooted, everything went back to normal.

Just in case anyone encountered this, please check if you have Symantec Antivirus or similar app installed.

I'm now on my third day with 10.12.5 and I must say it has been completely stable for me (2.7/455). I haven't had any crashes or noticed any strange behavior. On 10.12.4, I had a bug when closing Safari that would show up once in a while where the menu bar would completely disappear until I launched another program. This appears to be gone. IMO after 10.12.3 Sierra has been wonderful especially compared to the initial widespread problems with 10.12.1 which gave lots of 2016 mbp buyers a bad first impression.

If I find some new bugs, I will post them here.

This update has broken my iTunes installation.

I just get a message: iTunes cannot be opened because of a problem.
Check with the developer to make sure iTunes works with this version of macOS.

Excellent information. This is why these forums are so valuable. I don't run an AV, but for those that do this info will avoid the hassle of taking the machine to a Genius and not having them know what is going on. A big waste of time when the solution is very simple.

No issue with iTunes for me. V12.6.1

Which is why I am using it on an external disk drive that I use for a copy of backup data. I would be mildly hesitant to use APFS to boot the very day it is unleashed on the public, but, I think, coming from Apple, it won't be very bad.

I have never encountered something like this on a Mac platform ever: Windows "Whistler" installation, CHKDSK at boot tried to clean up 72GB out of my HDD of capacity 40GB. Needless to say, when it restarted, my entire Windows install was missing. :p Such kind of fantastic-ness hasn't ever happened to me on any Mac OS X beta ever.

So both Safari and Apple store working today. Can only assume this had something to do with Apple central systems.

Well the wifi networks automatic iPhone hotspot no longer works. Have to physically connect the old way. Nice job guys.
