Swell. Installed the update on Yosemite and got the usual repair libraries song and dance for hours. Rebooted after typing in password a gazillion times. Not even sure the update took hold.
What's the "usual libraries song and dance"? This isn't typical behavior.

Does anyone else have an issue with 10.12.5 and Dell P2715Q and MBP touchbar (USB-C)?

Once I upgraded to 10.12.5, Dell P2715Q stopped working with my MBP touchbar. I am using a displayport-to-USB-C adaptor to use the monitor, and now it either renders at a very low resolution or just turns black (including the MBP display). When I look at the console, it logs tons of "invalid display" messages.

Do you know if they have addressed the external monitor bug (kernel panic) affecting some MacBookPros?

Hey guys just a heads up. After installing 10.12.5 on my 15" touchbar, the discrete GPU was enabled by default. I had to go into energy saver and toggle automatic graphics switching off and on to correct the issue. It's possible this is an isolated "bug," but nevertheless worth checking before you wonder why the battery is draining faster than usual.

MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 update has a nasty surprise. It disables support for the nVidia Web Driver. Apple is trying to prevent people from installing new graphics cards in their Macs.

This update was "weird"
1. It never showed up as an app store notification. Wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for macrumors
2. When I searched for the update in the app store, it didn't show up. I walked away for about 5 minutes at which point it finally did show up.
3. After the update was installed, I always go back to the app store to see if there are any other updates available once the latest OS update has been installed and the app store does not show 10.12.5 as having been installed. Other updates from back in April DO show up.

What's up with the weirdness Apple?

I swear that Mavericks is going to be the last version of Mac OS I will be ever using until the ugly flat UI got fixed.

Have you only recently used web drivers? They are tied to the version of OS. NVidia has to issue updates. Usually they release betas.

Anyway, no conspiracy here.

I updated from 10.12.4 and now my 2011 iMac can't connect to my Apple Bluetooth keyboard. I did the typical resets and it still won't connect. Luckily I keep a USB keyboard around precisely for such nonsense. I'm going to try reinstalling the OS. It might not hurt because there are plenty of things that don't 'just work'.

Maybe they made the app less terrible?
Heh. Apple developer 101: Always download Xcode and its updates from the website, not the Mac App Store like they tell you to, unless you want a wild goose chase. It's sad.

Can confirm. Every minor OS update removes the driver for me. Nvidia usually comes out with one soon after, probably usually the same thing but with a higher supported OS version.

Quite a long list of security fixes:

Lots of scary "memory corruption" bugs in there. They mean buffer overruns and such, right? Geez. I'll update ASAP.

No Surprise here. It's been like that for quite some time. Nvidia ties their Web Driver to each OS release. I'm waiting for the new one (Web Driver) for 10.12.5 now. I can't update the OS until that happens.

I just finished updating... My Performance MX mouse won't pair anymore. Looks like Logitech will be coming out with new unifying receiver driver/software here in the next day or two.

Seems like every other post is someone reporting some type of issue. Usually there's a few good stories mixed in but less so this time. I think I'll hold off for a bit.

I don't even see this update on my end, so I guess with all these issues I'll hold off anyways.

no offense but a few days ago another user made the same claim and it's really that they don't understand how the thing whole things works, right now i have an nvidia 1080 working flawlessly on sierra 10.12.5 and nvidia official drivers are not out yet, here is the proof, you just have to know how

it's always been like this, there is no conspiracy and trust me nobody likes conspiracies more than me
apple releases the update then a day or 2 later Nvidia releases the new web driver update
but the ones that know the trick don't have to wait for Nvidia to release the web driver
in order to install the update
simply modify a file
NVDAStartupWeb.kext
and add the new build #
now after you reboot the files matches the build # and the file load the web drivers
then after Nvidia releases the official version of web drivers
you can download the official web drivers and install them

i have 2 samsung 960 in raid0 hitting 6000 in reading i'm just waiting on 2 more coming tomorrow
maybe you should try to build a hackintosh
just for learning purposes

How did you do that? Is it flashed? Is the web driver not needed for a flashed card?

Edit: Oh, wait, you're fooling us. That's not even a real Mac!

I'm also not seeing the update. I'm running the Public Beta, but the last released beta was an older version than this. Rebooting doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? Could I just install the full version from the app store?

it will work exactly the same way
if you want i can upload you the file for you to install it

it makes no difference if is a real mac or a hackintosh
the process is exactly the same
you just need the build # inside the plist in order to inject or activate the kext
for the web drivers to load

my neighbor has a 5.1 mac pro with an nvidia card
and the method works on his "genuine mac"
so is a proven fact
