Did they fix the Language and Region, yet, or is the possibility to use two different languages (one for the system, one for the region format) forever gone?

Apple today released the golden master version of macOS Sierra, the newest operating system designed for the Mac. Today's GM update comes two weeks after the release of the seventh macOS Sierra public beta and one day after the launch of the golden master for developers. The macOS Sierra golden master represents the version of macOS Sierra that will be released to the public on Tuesday, September 20.

Beta testers who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program will receive the macOS Sierra golden master through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store. The update is visible on the public beta website and should be available via Software Update shortly.

Those who want to be a part of Apple's beta testing program can sign up to participate through the beta testing website, which gives users access to both iOS and OS X betas.

macOS Sierra is a major update that brings Siri to the Mac, allowing users to conduct voice searches to find files, look up information, and more. New Continuity features include an "Auto Unlock" option for unlocking a Mac with an Apple Watch and a "Universal Clipboard" for copy paste that works across multiple devices.

Deeper iCloud integration makes files stored on the desktop or the Documents folder of a Mac available on all of a user's devices, and Photos features new deep learning algorithms for facial, object, and scene recognition. The Messages app includes rich links, bigger emoji, and "Tapback" response options, and the macOS Sierra update will also bring Apple Pay to the web.

It's not OS X anymore y'all, it's macOS

Very disappointed. Much slower than El Capitan. Guess I'll have to reformat and reinstall.
haha i can't believe you said that, yes you have to clean install, then you will see that Sierra is much faster than EC. i ran benchmark test in sierra betas and around beta 6, sierra was already faster than EC, but don't take what i said the wrong way. i was just surprise by you comment because that the first thing that i notice about sierra "the speed". i already clean install Public GM and is pretty fast and stable. maybe when you clean install you will also notice the difference.

Not sure what's happening but YouTube is broken for me? I keep getting the "Your browser doesn't currently recognizes any of the video formats:.

I'm not a Safari user but Youtube sync via Airplay via the Chrome Browser broke about mid-way through the developer beta releases and the audio is still not synced in this developer GM candidate release. Youtube audio syncs with Airplay in Safari, however.

No differences here. I've never cleaned installed from 10.5/10.6 through to 10.12. I find that all the initial releases "run slow" or "choppy" but that usually sorts itself out within 1 or 2 updates. But if anyone does run into problems from upgrading, people usually find that clean installs usually fix whatever problem they may have.

I went to beta.apple.com, entered my Apple ID & password, then it told me a new computer was using my account in Brisbane (about 25 miles to the south from SF where I live) it sent an activation code to the trusted devices (I have many, but it only showed the code on the computer I logged in with instead of my other trusted device). This has left me spooked about continuing. Anyone experience anything like this?

Same thing happened to me tonight, except the new computer wasn't in Australia of course. Alerted my trusted device, but the code showed on the beta computer screen instead. It occurred as soon as I logged into the beta program, so it triggered the login alert. Way too fast to have been stolen or anything. Probably some kind of iCloud bug or something. Or karma. Or it's random, I dunno.

@SFjohn @DavidNelsonNM I can't test this aspect of seeding by Apple but for what it's worth, whenever I use one of my preferred services (maybe my Firefox account) at a computer for the first time, there's immediate automated notification of its use a few miles away. The location is probably approximated based upon network characteristics (without regard to any personal preference for sharing, or not sharing, one's location).

Traditional hard drive.

Makes sense now

Hate to say it, but you really should have a true SSD storage (not fusion) for the full OS install at the very least. Spinning hard drives are dog **** slow with these current os's - especially when it comes to boot times and software install times.

SSD's are certainly affordable now, so there really shouldn't be anything holding you back.

Nope. But I can understand the wish for every non-Apple computer user, worldwide, to have enough disposable income for ample solid state storage ;)

I guess I'm confused. You do buy macs right? So you're spending what, $1000 to $2000 every few years on a new system right? So why are you acting like spending $89 for 250 gigs of SSD storage to load your main OS onto is such a lofty price?
